SouthernWorldwide.com – Jake Hager, a prominent figure in professional wrestling with a history in both WWE and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), recently experienced a knockout defeat in a Power Slap matchup on Friday night.
Hager faced off against Amanpreet Singh in a contest of Power Slap. Singh, a former sport shooter, delivered a forceful right-hand slap that sent Hager backward onto the officials, resulting in a knockout.
The decisive slap occurred in the third round of the bout. Prior to Singh’s final blow, Hager had absorbed two significant slaps. He remained on the ground, appearing stunned, as Singh celebrated by removing his shirt. Hager did not immediately respond following the knockout.
This marked Hager’s inaugural loss in Power Slap since his debut in April. He had previously secured a victory over Devin Jenkins in a third-round knockout before his encounter with Singh.
Hager had announced his intention to compete in Power Slap back in March. His athletic background includes amateur wrestling and mixed martial arts.
During his collegiate wrestling career with the Oklahoma Sooners, he set a single-season record for the most pins in the 285-pound weight class. He also had a stint in Bellator, participating in four bouts and holding a record of 3-0 with one no contest.
Hager’s professional wrestling career spanned from 2006 to 2025. Throughout his career, he performed for various promotions, including WWE, Lucha Underground, Major League Wrestling (MLW), and AEW.
In WWE, he achieved significant success, holding the World Heavyweight Championship, ECW Championship, and United States Championship. He also won the prestigious Money in the Bank ladder match. In AEW, he was a notable member of Chris Jericho’s faction, The Inner Circle.
