SouthernWorldwide.com – Outrage is intensifying following the revelation that a California mayor, who recently resigned after admitting to acting as a Chinese agent, appears to have made donations to Democratic candidates, including a sitting congresswoman.
Eileen Wang, the mayor of Arcadia, California, agreed to plead guilty to acting as an agent for the Chinese government. This admission has sparked significant concerns about foreign infiltration within local government structures.
The situation has escalated with allegations that Wang also contributed to Democrats at the federal level. Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings reportedly show several small donations, ranging from $5 to $25, made to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) through ActBlue in 2024.
Bernadette Breslin, a spokesperson for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), strongly criticized the Democratic party in response to these findings. She labeled the donations as clear evidence of “malign Chinese influence operating within their own ranks.”
Breslin further emphasized the contrast between Republican efforts to combat foreign interference and the alleged situation within the Democratic party. She stated that while President Trump is focused on diplomacy, Republicans are actively working to identify and remove foreign interference in elections and safeguard national security.
Wang, who has since stepped down as mayor of Arcadia, has agreed to plead guilty to the felony charge of acting as an illegal agent for the People’s Republic of China. The Department of Justice announced this development this week.
She now faces a potential sentence of up to 10 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The final sentence will be determined by a federal judge.
According to federal prosecutors, Wang admitted to acting “at the direction and control” of Chinese government officials. This alleged activity spanned from at least 2020 through 2022, during which she coordinated with individuals in the U.S. to disseminate pro-Beijing messaging.
Crucially, she failed to notify the U.S. Attorney General of these actions, as required by law. The conduct in question reportedly occurred before Wang took her position on the Arcadia City Council in December 2022.
With Wang’s alleged foreign connections now exposed, politicians she interacted with are facing increased scrutiny.

Beyond the reported donations of $1,000 and $175, a 2024 press release from Congresswoman Judy Chu highlights that Chu honored Wang as one of the “Congressional Women of the Year.”
In the press release issued by Chu’s office, Wang was lauded as a “dedicated Arcadia resident, educator, and community leader.” The statement further noted that she “brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as City Councilmember.”
The press release also mentioned Wang’s extensive involvement in various city and service groups over 15 years. This included her active participation in the Arcadia High School Chinese Parents Booster Club.
Chu’s office stated that Wang “gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by Arcadia residents.” It added that she “is poised to make a lasting impact on the City Council and continue her tireless efforts to improve the lives of Arcadia residents.”
Senator Jim Banks, R-Ind., who also serves as NRSC vice chair, reacted strongly to these revelations. He pointed to other instances of Democrats having associations with individuals linked to the Chinese government.
Banks posted on X, formerly Twitter, “Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) had a Chinese spy in her office. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) dated a Chinese spy. Mayor Eileen Wang (D-CA) is a Chinese spy. How many more?”
The popular conservative account Libs of TikTok drew attention to Wang’s donations to the DSCC. They posted on X, “Democrat Senators are being funded by Chinese spies. If it was the other way around, it would be front page news for weeks.”
Libs of TikTok also commented on Wang’s donations to Congresswoman Chu. The account wrote, “Judy is a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, one of the most powerful committees in Congress. She’s also a member of the Taiwan Caucus. She’s being funded by Chinese spies. What could possibly go wrong.”
Another prominent conservative commentator on X, known as “Greg,” also shared his thoughts. He stated, “So this is the great ‘resistance?’ Our brave DNC, the defenders of democracy, are actually just tools for the Chinese Communist Party. A confessed CCP agent funnels money to Democratic senators and they’re all quiet. Makes you wonder what/who else they’re willing to sell out.”
