Wisconsin Official Cries Foul Over FBI Visit to Election Director’s Home

SouthernWorldwide.com – A county clerk in Wisconsin has voiced strong objections, alleging that an agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) visited the private residence of a county election director. This incident occurred as the clerk defended the state’s management of the 2020 presidential election.

Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson confirmed the visit in a statement released Thursday morning. He stated that a representative of the FBI had indeed visited the home of his Elections Director and left behind a business card.

Christenson expressed his intention to investigate the matter further to understand the purpose of the FBI’s visit. He found it regrettable that the FBI chose to approach the Elections Director at her private home rather than contacting the Election Commission’s office directly.

He emphasized that no public servant dedicated to their duties should face such an intrusion. This intrusion, he argued, occurred simply because the director was performing her responsibilities with integrity and professionalism.

Christenson strongly defended the state’s conduct of the 2020 presidential election. He described it as “fair and transparent,” asserting that this has been repeatedly validated over the past six years.

These validations, he noted, came through various channels. These included post-election canvasses, the Presidential Election Recount, challenges in state and federal courts, a forensic audit conducted by Wisconsin’s Legislative Audit Bureau, and two additional independent audits.

He posited that continuously rehashing settled questions does not bolster public confidence in elections. Instead, he argued, it serves to undermine it.

Christenson reiterated the county’s willingness to cooperate with all legitimate law enforcement actions. However, he also pledged to defend against any actions perceived as an attack on democracy.

Furthermore, he vowed to protect the voting rights of the residents of Milwaukee County. He asserted that the responsibility of election officials is to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

This safeguarding, he explained, is achieved through facts, transparency, and strict adherence to the law. Christenson concluded that the existing record clearly demonstrates these standards were met in 2020.

The county clerk went on to suggest that the FBI’s actions could be interpreted as an “attack on democracy.”

The FBI, when contacted, declined to provide any comment on the matter.

Milwaukee County, being the most populous county in Wisconsin, has been a focal point for conservative groups alleging irregularities in the 2020 election. The FBI has been actively involved across the nation in investigating various election integrity issues.

A notable instance occurred in January, when the FBI searched Fulton County, Georgia’s main election facility in Union City, near Atlanta. This search, which was authorized by a court-approved warrant, focused on records connected to the 2020 general election, as reported by Fox Atlanta.

An underlying affidavit that emerged from this investigation revealed that the bureau was probing allegations of ballot irregularities and failures in record-keeping within Georgia. This state was a key battleground where President Donald Trump narrowly lost to President Joe Biden and became a central location for Trump’s claims of election fraud following the 2020 election.
