SouthernWorldwide.com – The campaign for Graham Platner, the Democratic nominee for the Maine Senate race, has been significantly impacted by new, damaging allegations from a former romantic partner. This development comes just a day after Platner secured the nomination and as the race against incumbent Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine, intensifies.

A woman, using the X handle 420mercymain69, took to social media on Thursday to detail her brief relationship with Platner in 2021. She recounted meeting him on the Tinder dating app, citing his profile as attractive and his self-identified leftist stance as a draw. Her statement on X aimed to add her voice to a growing chorus of women who she claims have been wronged by Platner through lying and manipulation.

The woman described her experience with Platner as “hideous,” further contributing to the mounting controversies surrounding his campaign. These new details deepen the concerns about Platner’s alleged deceptive behavior towards romantic partners, adding another layer to the scandals that have trailed his bid for the Senate.

Platner, who officially became the Democratic nominee earlier this week, has been facing scrutiny over past remarks on sensitive topics such as sexual abuse, race, and terror, as well as allegations of threatening behavior towards women. His campaign has been grappling with these resurfaced issues.

According to 420mercymain69, who is originally from the Maryland area, she and Platner began communicating on Tinder in February 2021 and dated until mid-July of the same year. Their interactions reportedly included discussions about his infamous chest tattoo, a symbol known as Totenkopf, which was used by the Nazi SS.

When questioned about the tattoo, the author claims Platner offered an explanation that he had gotten it unknowingly but kept it as a reminder of how the U.S. is perceived as the “bad guys” in many parts of the world. She described this explanation as a “sob story of monumental proportions” that reinforced her perception of his ideology.

The author expressed surprise that Platner’s explanation to her differed from the one he presented to the public in Maine. She stated that she had expected a different narrative to emerge when the truth about his past inevitably surfaced, especially given his campaign announcement.

This account contrasts with Platner’s earlier statements when the tattoo controversy first surfaced late last year. At that time, he reportedly claimed unfamiliarity with its Nazi associations. A spokesperson for Platner previously contrasted him with Senator Susan Collins, criticizing her voting record on issues such as confirming Brett Kavanaugh, rural hospitals, and foreign wars.

Beyond the tattoo issue, 420mercymain69 also accused Platner of multiple instances of relational infidelity. She stated that their relationship ended after she learned from a mutual friend that he was allegedly involved with another woman while they were still dating.

The author recounted Platner speaking about another woman he had been intimate with, referring to her as “the love of his life.” She admitted to being naive at the time but realized that Platner was not referring to her, deciding to end the relationship.

Following their breakup, she claimed to have discovered that Platner was engaged to a woman named “Jen” when they first started talking. She was also informed that Platner was allegedly cheating on “Jen” with a third woman.

The mutual friend reportedly told her that this third woman had caught Platner having sex with someone else at a wedding in D.C. The friend also mentioned that Platner was attempting to reconcile with “Jen” and asked if the author would reach out to inform her. The author stated on X that “There will be more information that comes out.”

She concluded her statement by expressing her doubt about Platner’s trustworthiness, stating, “If I were a Maine voter seeing the things I’m seeing, I wouldn’t have voted for him, personal experience notwithstanding, because I do not trust him. Why, after all that has come out, would I?”
