SouthernWorldwide.com – Israeli officials have expressed strong condemnation of the United Nations after the international body reportedly placed Israeli entities on a blacklist concerning sexual violence. This blacklist also includes the terrorist organization Hamas, a move that has led Israel to officially freeze relations with the Secretary-General’s office.
A spokesperson for Ambassador Danon announced that Israel is suspending all ties with the Secretary-General’s office for the duration of Antonio Guterres’ tenure. This decision stems from Guterres’ alleged inclusion of Israeli entities on a list that addresses sexual violence occurring in conflict zones.
The move by the UN has drawn sharp criticism, with Ambassador Danon stating, “We are done with this Secretary-General.” This sentiment reflects a broader disillusionment with the UN’s actions as perceived by Israeli officials.

The Jerusalem Post initially reported on Wednesday evening that the Israeli Prison Service is slated to be included on the UN’s list of entities implicated in committing sexual violence in conflict zones. This development has intensified the ongoing tensions.
Earlier in May, The New York Times published an opinion piece by Nicholas Kristof. The article accused Israeli prison guards of perpetrating institutionalized sexual abuse against Palestinian prisoners. Kristof’s claims were reportedly based on a 2025 UN report that characterized alleged Israeli sexual abuse of Palestinians as “standard operating procedures towards Palestinians.”
Israeli officials have vehemently rejected the premises of Kristof’s piece and have accused both him and The New York Times of publishing a “blood libel.” The Israeli government has even threatened legal action against the newspaper in American courts.
In response to The New York Times article, the Israel Foreign Ministry posted on X, stating, “In an unfathomable inversion of reality, and through an endless stream of baseless lies, propagandist Nicholas Kristof turns the victim into the accused. Israel — whose citizens were the victims of the most horrific sexual crimes committed by Hamas on October 7, and whose hostages were later subjected to further sexual abuse — is portrayed as the guilty party.”
The Israeli Foreign Ministry further elaborated on the reported UN blacklisting on Thursday. The ministry described the UN’s decision as “shameful and absurd,” asserting that it is “further proof of the UN’s true nature: a politicized and corrupt organization that has abandoned its founding principles and systematically targets Israel as its primary mission.”
The statement continued, “This decision is yet another example of the UN’s long-standing, institutionalized hostility toward Israel. Today’s decision must be understood in its true context: an attempt to create a fake symmetry between Israel and the real sexual atrocities committed by Hamas. This is its sole motivation. The person behind this farce is Antonio Guterres.”
The ministry also criticized Guterres’ past actions, noting, “This is the same Guterres who sought to ‘contextualize’ the October 7 massacre, who covered up the involvement of UN employees in those atrocities, and who has dragged the UN to its lowest point.”
The statement concluded by accusing Guterres of exploiting his final months as Secretary-General to “fabricate baseless accusations against Israel, completely devoid of any factual merit.” It emphasized that Israel has “comprehensively, thoroughly, and unequivocally refuted these allegations.” Consequently, due to Guterres’ alleged violation of “every standard of honesty, integrity, and professionalism,” Israel has decided to sever all ties with the Secretary-General’s Office and will await the appointment of a new UN Secretary-General.
