SouthernWorldwide.com – The National Football League (NFL) is expanding its reach by adding a new game to its schedule, this time on Thanksgiving Eve.
The league announced that the inaugural Thanksgiving Eve game will feature the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams, and it will be streamed exclusively on Netflix.
This move signifies the NFL’s continued exploration of new days and platforms to engage with fans, building on its previous success with Black Friday games.

The NFL has a history of embracing holidays, having already established itself as a major player on Christmas Day.
The Packers and Rams have a recent history of playing each other, with matchups occurring in the seasons from 2020 to 2024. Notably, their 2020 encounter was during the playoffs, though they did not face off in 2025.
Historically, the Packers have dominated the series against the Rams. They have won 16 of their last 21 meetings dating back to 1992, including a remarkable 10 out of their last 11 games.
Interestingly, prior to their 2024 matchup, each of their previous four contests had been held in Green Bay. However, this upcoming Thanksgiving Eve game will mark the second consecutive contest played in Los Angeles for the two teams.
In their most recent encounter on October 6, 2024, Packers tight end Tucker Kraft was a key player, scoring two touchdowns, one of which was an impressive 66-yard reception.
Despite a valiant fourth-quarter effort from the Rams, the Packers secured a 24-19 victory on the road.
The streaming of this Thanksgiving Eve game on Netflix highlights the growing partnership between the NFL and the streaming giant. Netflix will also be broadcasting other NFL games, including the Rams’ Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, two Christmas Day games, and a Week 18 Saturday matchup.
