Trump ‘Locked and Loaded’ for Iran Military Action If Nuclear Talks Fail, Vance Says

SouthernWorldwide.com – Vice President JD Vance stated on Tuesday that President Donald Trump remains committed to pursuing a diplomatic resolution with Iran, but is prepared to resume military action if nuclear negotiations falter.

“It takes two to tango,” Vance informed reporters during a White House press briefing. “We will not agree to a deal that permits the Iranians to acquire nuclear weapons.”

“Therefore, as the President just informed me, we are locked and loaded,” Vance continued. “We do not wish to pursue that path, but the President is willing and able to do so if necessary.”

According to Vance, the administration views two potential avenues: a negotiated agreement that permanently prevents Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, or a resumption of U.S. military engagement.

VANCE WARNS IRAN THAT ‘ANOTHER OPTION ON THE TABLE’ IF NUCLEAR DEAL NOT REACHED

“We believe the Iranians are interested in reaching a deal,” Vance said. “The President of the United States has instructed us to negotiate in good faith, and that is precisely what we have done.”

However, Vance cautioned that diplomatic efforts would not compromise Trump’s fundamental demand that Tehran never acquire nuclear weapons.

“There is an Option B, which involves restarting the military campaign to continue prosecuting the case and working to achieve America’s objectives,” Vance explained. “However, this is not the President’s preference, nor do I believe it is what the Iranians desire either.”

TRUMP WARNS IRAN’S ‘CLOCK IS TICKING’: MOVE ‘FAST’ OR ‘THERE WON’T BE ANYTHING LEFT’

This development followed Trump’s announcement that he was on the verge of authorizing new strikes against Iran on Monday evening.

“We were preparing for a very significant attack [on Tuesday], and I postponed it for a short period – hopefully, perhaps indefinitely,” Trump stated. “This is because we have had very substantial discussions with Iran, and we will see what the outcome is.”

“There appears to be a strong possibility that they can reach an agreement,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “If we can achieve that without resorting to bombing them extensively, I would be very pleased.”

This announcement represents the latest shift in Trump’s approach to the delicate ceasefire that was established in mid-April. For several weeks, the President had warned Iran that hostilities could recommence if a deal was not accepted, while repeatedly setting and then withdrawing deadlines.

Over the weekend, Trump issued a warning that “the Clock is Ticking,” and stated that Iran needed to act “FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them.”

Trump initially revealed the pause in a social media post on Monday, indicating that he had instructed the U.S. military to be prepared “to proceed with a full, large-scale assault of Iran, at a moment’s notice” should an acceptable agreement not be reached.
