SouthernWorldwide.com – The U.S. men’s national team quickly found the back of the net in their latest match.
Auston Trusty secured his first international goal just three minutes into Thursday night’s game against Turkey. He converted a corner kick, giving the Americans a 1-0 lead at Los Angeles Stadium.
This goal marked the second-fastest score for the United States from the opening kickoff in World Cup history.
The early goal also brought the United States closer to a flawless group-stage performance. Before Thursday, the Americans had already achieved two victories, defeating Paraguay 4-1 and shutting out Australia 2-0 in their initial matches.
Christian Pulisic, a key player for the USMNT, began the group-stage finale on the bench but was available as a substitute. The star has been managing a left calf injury sustained on June 10.
However, the U.S. lead proved to be temporary. Arda Güler equalized for Turkey in the 10th minute. Later, Orkun Kökçü scored in the 31st minute, putting Turkey in front 2-1 by halftime.
The match took place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET.
It was held at Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The game was broadcast on FOX.
It was also available to stream on FOX One and FOX Sports.
