Hillary Clinton’s UFC Jab at the White House Angers Critics

SouthernWorldwide.com – Hillary Clinton’s recent criticism of President Donald Trump’s decision to host a UFC event at the White House has sparked a strong backlash from conservative voices. Critics have accused the former First Lady of exhibiting selective outrage, drawing attention to scandals that occurred during her and her husband’s tenure at the presidential residence.

Clinton, who was defeated by Trump in the 2016 presidential election, initially voiced her disapproval of the UFC event last month. She later amplified her stance on Sunday, stating on social media that the White House is “not his house” but rather “our house.” This statement was made while she promoted merchandise sales intended to benefit groups and candidates committed to upholding the “form and the function of the people’s house.”

“Remember, during today’s literal cage match on the White House grounds: No matter what, it’s not his house. It’s our house. Get a hat, coaster, or sticker to support groups and candidates who will respect the form and the function of the people’s house,” she wrote in a post that included a disclaimer limiting replies.

Representative Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee, was among numerous critics who responded to Clinton’s post. He sarcastically retweeted her statement, highlighting President Bill Clinton’s controversial involvement with intern Monica Lewinsky within the same “People’s House.”

“They literally rented out the Lincoln Bedroom and don’t forget Bill’s activity in the Oval Office,” Burchett remarked. “The vandalism that went on when you left was also well-documented.”

Bill Clinton’s denial of “sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky” during a press conference in January 1998, amidst an independent counsel probe, is a widely remembered moment. The probe was largely unrelated to the Whitewater real estate matter.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Buzz Patterson, who previously served as the carrier of Bill Clinton’s nuclear football, also strongly criticized Hillary Clinton’s remarks about the UFC event.

“I was the Air Force [lieutenant colonel] who carried the nuclear football for your husband inside that ‘people’s house’ you’re suddenly so precious about. I saw it all up close for two years,” Patterson stated. “While Bill was getting b— j— in the Oval Office from an intern and groping female Air Force enlisted crew on Air Force One. You lecture about ‘respect for the institution’ while your husband lost the nuclear codes. And when you finally slinked out in 2001? You and your crew trashed the place—vandalism, theft, the GAO confirmed it. Sit down, b—–, the adults are back in charge.”

Tom Fitton, from the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, commented, “Woman who stole White House furniture has something to say about ‘our house.’”

The official Republican Party social media account offered a concise suggestion: “sit this one out.”

Regarding the accusations made by Patterson and others against the former First Lady concerning damage to the White House, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) investigation was initiated. This investigation was requested by then-Representative Bob Barr, a Republican from Georgia. News reports from the time indicated that the estimated damage amounted to $15,000.

Barr had previously asserted that the Clinton administration treated the White House “worse than college freshmen checking out of their dorm rooms.” The GAO’s findings suggested that some of the “pranks” were clearly intentional, potentially constituting criminal acts. However, Clinton’s supporters argued that the damage was comparable to that of previous administrations, according to reporting by the Los Angeles Times.
