SouthernWorldwide.com – Honda is initiating a recall for 880,514 vehicles due to a potential issue with rear suspension components that could lead to component failure.

This defect poses a significant risk, potentially causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the likelihood of a crash, according to federal regulators.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) detailed the recall, specifying the affected models and their corresponding model years.

The vehicles included in this recall are:

  • Honda Pilot, model years 2016 through 2022
  • Honda Ridgeline, model years 2017 through 2023
  • Honda Passport, model years 2019 through 2023
  • Acura MDX, model years 2014 through 2020

These vehicles were distributed and sold in 23 specific U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

The states affected by this recall are:

Honda’s investigation revealed that the rear subframe in these vehicles may be susceptible to corrosion.

This corrosion can weaken the subframe, potentially leading to the failure of critical suspension components.

Such a failure could result in the driver losing the ability to steer or control the vehicle effectively.

Honda estimates that approximately 1% of the total recalled vehicles are actually equipped with the defect.

Owners of the affected vehicles are expected to receive notification letters starting July 7, 2026.

Honda dealerships will perform the necessary repairs, which involve either repairing or replacing the rear subframe components, at no cost to the vehicle owners.

The official NHTSA recall number assigned to this action is 26V365000.
