SouthernWorldwide.com – The NFL landscape might soon feature a new talent with a legendary lineage. Brock Rechsteiner, son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, has joined the New Orleans Saints, adding a new chapter to his family’s wrestling dynasty.
Rechsteiner initially signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in April. However, he has now found a new home with the Saints, potentially bringing the “genetic freak” moniker to the football field.
The Saints recently shared photos of Rechsteiner embracing his father’s wrestling heritage. In the images, he is seen wearing his father’s iconic wrestling headgear and holding the prestigious World Heavyweight Championship belt.
Scott Steiner himself took to social media platform X to comment on the photos. He posted, “Big Gold always looks good on a Genetic Freak,” on Tuesday, further emphasizing the family connection and his wrestling legacy.
He also added on Monday, “A genetic freak,” a phrase synonymous with his wrestling persona, underscoring the pride he has in his son’s athletic pursuits.
Rechsteiner’s football journey saw him play for Jacksonville State. During the 2023 to 2025 seasons, he made a significant impact, recording 53 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. In his final year with the Gamecocks, he showcased his talent with 36 catches for 383 yards and five touchdowns.
This isn’t the first time the Rechsteiner brothers have been associated with WWE. Brock and his brother Brandon previously signed Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals with WWE last year. Brandon Rechsteiner, who was a guard for the Colorado State Rams men’s basketball team, averaged 12 points per game during the 2025-26 season before announcing his transfer to Kansas State.
The Rechsteiner, or Steiner, family name carries substantial weight and history within WWE. Scott Steiner, alongside his brother Rick Steiner, achieved significant success as a tag team. Their contributions to professional wrestling were recognized with WWE Hall of Fame inductions in 2022.
Adding to the wrestling legacy, Rick Steiner’s son, Bronson Rechsteiner, is a prominent current WWE star, widely known by his ring name, Bron Breakker. He has quickly become a major force in the company.
While both brothers have had connections to WWE through NIL deals, it remains to be seen if Brock or Brandon Rechsteiner will eventually pursue professional wrestling careers themselves. For now, Brock is focused on making his mark in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints.
