SouthernWorldwide.com – The U.S. military has conducted a lethal strike on a vessel in the Eastern Pacific, resulting in the deaths of three individuals identified as suspected narco-terrorists.

U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced on Tuesday that Joint Task Force Southern Spear executed the strike. The operation, directed by Commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, targeted a vessel actively engaged in narco-trafficking along known routes.

According to SOUTHCOM, no U.S. service members sustained injuries during the operation. This successful outcome underscores the precision and effectiveness of the military’s counter-narcotics efforts.

“Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations,” the command stated on X. “Three male narco-terrorists were killed during this action. No U.S. military forces were harmed.”

SOUTHCOM has not yet released further details regarding the identities of the individuals who were killed in the strike.

This incident is part of a broader, ongoing campaign by the U.S. military to disrupt and dismantle drug-trafficking operations linked to cartels. Numerous strikes have been carried out in recent months against suspected drug-smuggling vessels.

The announcement follows closely on the heels of another operation. Just the day before, SOUTHCOM reported a similar strike in the Caribbean that resulted in the deaths of two suspected drug traffickers.

Prior to that, on April 24, SOUTHCOM also conducted a lethal strike on a suspected narco-trafficking vessel in the Eastern Pacific. That operation led to the deaths of two suspected narco-terrorists.

These actions highlight a consistent and aggressive approach by U.S. forces in combating international drug trade routes.

SOUTHCOM holds responsibility for U.S. military operations across Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. A significant component of their mission involves counter-narcotics operations designed to disrupt drug trafficking networks that pose a threat to U.S. interests.

The Eastern Pacific remains a critical transit zone for narcotics. Cartels frequently utilize small, high-speed vessels to transport illicit drugs towards the United States and Central America, making these waters a constant focus for interdiction efforts.
