Consumers can identify the recalled products by their best-by dates, which are printed on the bottom of each container. These items began appearing on store shelves on May 4.

The specific recalled products and their corresponding best-by dates and manufacturing codes are as follows:

  • Vanilla bean pints: Best-by dates of December 23 and 28, 2026, with manufacturing code 7-84830-10030-6.
  • Strawberry pints: Best-by date of December 25, 2026, with manufacturing code 7-84830-10095-5.
  • Strawberry quarts: Best-by date of December 24, 2026, with manufacturing code 7-84830-10097-9.
  • Cookie dough pints: Best-by date of December 26, 2026, with manufacturing code 7-84830-10104-4.
  • Dutch chocolate quarts: Best-by date of December 27, 2026, with manufacturing code 7-84830-10012-2.
  • Mint chip quarts: Best-by date of December 30, 2026, with manufacturing code 7-84830-10050-4.

Straus Family Creamery is actively collaborating with retailers to ensure that all affected products are removed from store shelves. Consumers who have purchased any of the recalled ice cream containers are advised to discard the product immediately.

While the company will not be offering refunds, Straus Family Creamery will provide vouchers to customers who are interested. These vouchers can be used to purchase another carton of ice cream.
