This potential addition to the executive mansion’s grounds has emerged as the latest in a series of updates to the historic property.
The White House has not yet released further details regarding this proposed helipad.
According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the helipad is intended to protect the grass on the South Lawn from the powerful engines of the newer helicopters used by the president.
It remains unclear at this time who would be responsible for funding the construction of this potential new feature.

This proposed structure would be located within a roundabout positioned between Memorial Bridge and Memorial Avenue, in proximity to the Arlington Cemetery Metro Stop.
