SouthernWorldwide.com – The Primm Valley Resorts family is actively engaged in a concerted effort to revitalize the flagging Nevada gambling destination, following a series of mass closure announcements that have ignited concerns about its imminent transformation into a ghost town.
Historically, Primm has been recognized as a more economically viable alternative to Las Vegas. It has traditionally offered more budget-friendly hotel accommodations and gaming options with lower stakes, situated just across the Nevada state line.
However, the last remaining casino hotel in Primm, the Primm Valley Resort & Casino, is slated for closure on July 4. This impending closure is expected to result in the loss of employment for 344 individuals, as reported by Fox 5 Las Vegas.

Cory Clemetson, president of Primm’s landowner group and grandson of the town’s founder, Ernie Primm, has voiced strong opposition to this decision.
“It goes against our principles to allow this to happen without exploring every possible avenue,” he stated.
Clemetson further elaborated that he and his family are dedicating themselves to exploring all avenues for the revival of the Primm properties.
“We fully acknowledge their iconic status in our region and in our hearts,” he added.

“Rest assured, we are working towards a revitalized Primm and a return to its former glory,” Clemetson affirmed.
He also expressed regret over the job losses for “hard-working employees” and contended that the operators could have made greater efforts to ensure the success of these establishments.
“The news is particularly distressing for the hundreds of diligent employees and residents who live and work in Primm,” the statement read.
“They now face the prospect of job loss and, in many instances, displacement from their homes.”

The closures were announced by Affinity Interactive, the casino operator, and its primary stakeholder, the New York-based private equity firm Z Capital, which has managed and operated the Primm properties for close to 15 years.
The initial two casino hotels to cease operations were Whiskey Pete’s and Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino, which closed in December 2024 and transitioned to special-event-only operations in July 2025, respectively.
“In Nevada, we have numerous old mining towns where, once the boom subsided or the precious metals were depleted, everyone departed,” he remarked.
