SouthernWorldwide.com – A buffalo with a distinctive hairstyle has captured the internet’s attention, drawing comparisons to former President Donald Trump.
This rare albino buffalo, affectionately nicknamed “Donald Trump,” has become a major attraction at Bangladesh’s national zoo. Its fame stems from a blond tuft of hair that many observers believe strongly resembles the former president’s signature look.
The animal’s unique appearance first came to light when a local farmer noticed the striking resemblance.
A video showcasing the pale, horned buffalo rapidly circulated across social media platforms. This viral spread led to significant crowds gathering at a farm outside Dhaka, where the animal was initially housed.
The buffalo was originally intended for slaughter during Eid al-Adha, the Muslim “Feast of Sacrifice.” However, government officials intervened, ordering the animal to be transferred to the national zoo in the capital city.
Since its arrival at the zoo, the buffalo has consistently drawn large numbers of visitors. Its presence has also ignited discussions and debates regarding its unusual nickname.
A portion of the visitors have embraced the comparison, finding it amusing and fitting.
“There is a resemblance to Donald Trump in its eyes, hairstyle, and skin color,” Mohammed Nasim, a student from Dhaka, shared with The Associated Press.
He further elaborated, “And just as Donald Trump has a distinctive personality and lifestyle, this buffalo, after going viral, is now living a similar kind of life, enjoying a lot of attention and special treatment.”
According to reports from local media, the exhibit initially featured a sign clearly identifying the animal as “Donald Trump.” This sign has since been removed from the enclosure.
The zoo’s curator was subsequently dismissed from their position. Officials, however, have not publicly provided a specific reason for this dismissal.
As crowds continued to gather around the buffalo’s enclosure this past week, many visitors paused to capture photos and videos of the increasingly famous animal.
Conversely, some individuals have expressed that naming the animal after the former president is inappropriate and disrespectful.
“Giving a farm animal the name of one of the world’s most influential leaders was certainly the wrong thing to do,” local resident Mohammad Joynal Adedin stated to the AP.
Despite his reservations, Adedin still made the journey to the zoo specifically to observe the buffalo for himself.
“It seems disrespectful,” he added. “I think the farmer who did this made a poor decision.”
