SouthernWorldwide.com – The body of a hiker who was reported missing has been discovered by search and rescue teams in Montana’s Glacier National Park, according to park officials on Thursday.

His remains were located on Wednesday, approximately two and a half miles up the Mt. Brown Trail. The discovery was made about 50 feet off the trail in a densely wooded area with fallen timber.

Officials stated that the hiker’s injuries were consistent with those sustained in a bear encounter. They added that wildlife and law enforcement personnel are currently evaluating the area for bear activity and any ongoing public safety concerns. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
