Biden Appears Disoriented Leaving Stage After Gala Remarks

SouthernWorldwide.com – A recent event saw former President Joe Biden appearing to search for his exit route after delivering remarks at a Democratic gala, adding another notable moment to his public appearances.

The incident occurred Saturday night at the Maryland Democratic Party’s “Fight Back & Win Gala” held near Baltimore. After a speech lasting approximately 10 minutes, the 83-year-old paused onstage. He was observed looking towards the wings of the stage and gesturing in different directions, suggesting he was uncertain about where to disembark.

Following what appeared to be some guidance, Biden turned and walked off the stage with his back to the audience. This exit differed from that of other speakers at the gala, many of whom left from the opposite side of the stage.

The moment followed a period where Biden delivered a strong critique of former President Donald Trump. He defended his own administration’s record and accused the Trump administration of corruption. Biden also commented on what he termed Trump’s “vanity projects,” referencing renovations to the White House, changes at the Kennedy Center, and issues with the reflecting pool on the National Mall.

“Whoa, what a loser,” Biden stated during his remarks.

Throughout his speech, Biden paused several times to cough. He concluded by urging Democrats to “fight back” and expressed confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome challenges through collective action.

“Folks, I guarantee we can do this. And we will. We just remember who in the hell we are. We’re the United States of America,” Biden said. “There’s nothing, nothing beyond our capacity if we act together. So let’s get up and fight back, God darn it.”

This onstage moment occurs shortly after another widely discussed incident at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.

During the star-studded ceremony, which included former Presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, along with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and other notable figures, Biden remained onstage after others had exited. He was heard calling out, “Where’s my granddaughter?”

Former First Lady Jill Biden then returned to the stage, took his hand, and guided him off.

Biden has maintained a lower public profile since withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race. This decision followed significant pressure from within the Democratic party for him to end his bid for reelection.

Since then, the former president has made only infrequent public appearances. He recently disclosed that he is undergoing treatment for Stage 4 prostate cancer.
