SouthernWorldwide.com – Caitlin Clark’s unexpected appearance with Morgan Wallen at the start of his concert on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium has sparked a range of reactions from WNBA fans, especially considering the Indiana Fever’s home season opener loss.

Clark and the Fever were unable to secure a victory against the Dallas Wings, succumbing to a 107-104 defeat to mark the beginning of the 2026 WNBA season.

Despite the loss, Clark, who contributed 20 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, seized the opportunity to join the renowned country music star for his signature concert entrance.

The crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium erupted in cheers as Clark appeared alongside Wallen, walking through the stadium’s concourses.

A clip shared by Barstool Sports on X ignited a flurry of comments from social media users expressing their thoughts on Clark’s presence with Wallen. This occurred shortly after Clark had to leave the court during her season debut to receive treatment for her back, though she still managed to play 31 minutes.

One X user voiced their dissatisfaction, stating, “I’m sorry.. you didn’t get back on defense and [Wings star] Paige [Bueckers] drops 20 on you. Plus you miss a 3 at the end and take an L. Do better.”

Clark had a chance to tie the game with a three-point shot with only seven seconds remaining, but she missed the crucial attempt.

Further criticism arose regarding Clark’s association with Wallen at all, given the controversy surrounding a video that captured him using a racial slur in 2021.

“She walks out with a racist? Not a good look,” another X user commented.

However, the reactions were not exclusively negative. One user praised Clark and Wallen by calling them “Two GOATS.”

Even Fever teammate Sophie Cunningham expressed her approval, sharing a post on her Instagram Story calling Clark a “bada—b—-” for attending the concert.

While Clark and the Fever are undoubtedly aiming for more wins in 2026, fans can take solace in seeing Clark play a team-high number of minutes. This is particularly encouraging after she was sidelined by numerous injuries, limiting her to just 13 games in the 2025 season.

Regarding her back issue, Clark told the New York Post, “It gets out of line pretty quickly. So just that, just getting my back put back in place a little bit. But other than that, feel great.”

The Fever are scheduled to play their next game on Wednesday on the West Coast against the Los Angeles Sparks.
