Caitlin Clark’s Honest Take on Her Performance in Efficient Fever Victory Over Storm

SouthernWorldwide.com – Caitlin Clark reflected on her performance after the Indiana Fever secured a win against the Seattle Storm on Sunday night.

Clark scored 21 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. She was perfect from the free-throw line, making all nine attempts, and also hit two three-pointers. This marked the first time since September 19, 2024, that she attempted 10 or fewer field goals. In that previous game against the Washington Mystics, she played 19 minutes and shot 2-of-5 from the field.

When asked about her game against the Storm, the WNBA star seemed to realize that a high volume of shots wasn’t necessary for her team to win. She also recorded 10 assists, a feat she last achieved on July 13, 2025, against the Dallas Wings. That game was just before she sustained an injury that sidelined her for a significant portion of the 2025 season.

“No reason to press. Get my teammates involved,” Clark stated, as reported by The Athletic. “Take what the defense gives me. I thought I did a good job of getting to the line, so there’s no need to probably shoot a bunch of shots. I mean, I only played 23 minutes but I also got to the line nine times. … I think that’s what I can do a better job of – really trying to get to the line and free points.”

The Indiana Fever won the game with a final score of 89-78.

Although Clark led the team in scoring, Kelsey Mitchell contributed 17 points in 28 minutes. Sophie Cunningham also came off the bench to add 17 points and three rebounds. The Fever played this game without Aliyah Boston, who was out due to a lower-leg injury.
