SouthernWorldwide.com – A prominent House committee is intensifying its investigation into the Biden administration, alleging a potential collaboration with gun control advocacy groups.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, has formally requested documents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). He seeks records detailing communications between Biden administration officials and Everytown for Gun Safety, a prominent gun control organization founded by billionaire Michael Bloomberg.
The Oversight Committee has put forward the argument that a now-disbanded office within the Biden administration may have worked in tandem with Everytown. This alleged collaboration is believed to have aided in facilitating a lawsuit filed by the city of Chicago against the firearm manufacturer Glock Inc.
Chicago’s lawsuit, which officially lists Everytown’s legal division as the plaintiff’s counsel, was initiated in March 2024. The suit claims that Glock sold pistols that could be easily modified to function as automatic weapons, a fact the manufacturer was allegedly aware of.
The lawsuit stated that Glock is aware of the ease with which its pistols can be converted into illegal machine guns and that this modification is frequently carried out by criminals. Furthermore, it alleged that Glock could rectify this issue but has chosen not to, prioritizing profits over public safety and consequently violating the law.
In his letter, Chairman Comer referenced a meeting in 2023 between the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention (WHOGVP) and representatives from Glock. During this meeting, Biden administration officials reportedly urged Glock to alter its pistol designs.
Three months after Chicago filed its lawsuit against Glock, John Feinblatt, the president of Everytown, posted on X. He stated that federal officials had recently contacted Glock to discuss implementing new methods to modify their pistols, making it more difficult to install Glock switches. Feinblatt added that instead of cooperating, Glock falsely claimed it could not assist.
Comer’s letter suggests that Feinblatt’s statement indicates he may have possessed insider information concerning the WHOGVP’s private meeting with Glock. This, Comer argues, raises serious questions about whether the Biden Administration colluded with Everytown to instigate their lawsuit against Glock.
The lawsuit is currently progressing through the court system. In September 2025, a judge in Cook County denied Glock’s motion to have the case dismissed.
The lawmaker from Kentucky has also pointed to the close relationship between the Biden White House and Everytown. The letter highlights that Rob Wilcox, a Biden aide, previously worked at Everytown for eight years before joining the WHOGVP.
President Biden himself was a featured speaker at Everytown’s Action Fund’s annual training conference, known as Gun Sense University, in June 2024. During his address, he reiterated his support for a nationwide ban on firearms commonly referred to as “assault weapons.”
This latest letter follows a request made in April by the GOP-led committee to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The committee asked for any communications between the Biden White House and Everytown.
Previously, House Oversight Republicans had issued subpoenas to the Biden ATF and Everytown, demanding all communications related to their “potential collaboration efforts.” However, neither entity reportedly complied with these requests.
Comer has also stated that the committee’s investigation aims to help lawmakers determine if new legislation is necessary. Such legislation would address potential violations of recordkeeping requirements by officials or the misuse of their positions to leak private information to third parties with political affiliations.
