DAVID MARCUS: Five Falsehoods Democrats Are Spreading About Delaney Hall and ICE

opinion7 Views

SouthernWorldwide.com – Democratic elected officials and far-left agitators have collaborated recently to create a manufactured crisis at Delaney Hall, an ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey. This conflagration is fueled almost entirely by blatant falsehoods.

The situation escalated when Sen. Andy Kim, D-N.J., was pepper-sprayed. He had decided to spend his Memorial Day marching with Antifa activists, under their banner, while claiming he merely intended to visit the facility.

Less than two days later, Representatives Jerry Nadler and Dan Goldman, both from New York, were able to walk right in by simply making appointments. However, the spark had already been ignited, leading to nightly clashes ever since.

Throughout this period, Democrats and their media allies have been disseminating untruths relentlessly. Here are the five most significant lies, designed to foster division and incite violence.

1. The conditions at Delaney Hall are horrible

Numerous Democratic elected officials have now inspected the site. If the conditions were truly as dire as a “Hanoi Hilton” in the Garden State, one would expect more than vague statements like, “We heard reports of disturbing conditions.” The fundamental issue is that this claim remains unsubstantiated.

GOV. SHERRILL BLAMES ICE, DEFENDS RIOTERS AFTER DEPLOYING TROOPERS TO QUELL VIOLENT MOB

2. ICE wants confrontation

Perhaps the most egregious of these fabrications, as it directly smears law enforcement, is the preposterous notion, advanced by Gov. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., that ICE and its agents actually desire to be attacked by agitators. This, she suggests, would serve as a pretext for a larger ICE presence in Newark.

This farcical assertion makes no logical sense. Does Governor Sherrill genuinely believe these agents wish to be subjected to physical assault? To her minimal credit, given the obviousness of the situation, the governor has now conceded that out-of-state agitators are the instigators of the mayhem. Consequently, Sherrill is now facing criticism from the left for stating this simple, undeniable truth.

3. New Jersey State Police were deployed to protect protesters from ICE

This leads to the next falsehood: the fantastical claim that state police were ultimately called in to shield the protesters from ICE agents, rather than the other way around. This narrative is entirely divorced from reality. It is the agitators who are encroaching upon the agents’ space, provoking them with racial slurs, and gathering bricks.

The only factor that has thus far helped to de-escalate the violent nocturnal disturbances is the collaborative effort between the state police and ICE. It is not a scenario of protesters and state police against federal agents; rather, it is ICE and troopers confronting the violent agitators. This is precisely why the instigators are now directing their fury at the state police and the governor.

4. DHS backed down on visitation

In response to allegedly betraying Antifa by deploying the state police, Governor Sherrill and several House members, such as Rep. LeMonica McIver, D-N.J., who was arrested at the facility last year, now assert they have secured a concession from the Trump administration. They claim the Department of Homeland Security is reinstating visitation for detainees.

What they are omitting is that DHS has made it clear the sole reason visitation was initially suspended was due to the presence of violent and unhinged agitators. This move is evidently an attempt to salvage their reputation after unnecessarily instigating a week of chaos.

HOUSE REPUBLICANS WARN ANTI-ICE RHETORIC FROM DEMOCRATS IS DRIVING VIOLENT ATTACKS ON AGENTS

5. Delaney Hall is proof ICE must be abolished

Ultimately, the overarching objective of all these falsehoods is to support this singular conclusion: an increasing number of Democrats insist that ICE must be disbanded. Similar to the situation in Minnesota, they are building a case to cease enforcing immigration laws altogether.

It is notable that these Democrats never propose a more humane alternative for enforcing democratically enacted federal immigration laws. It is becoming increasingly evident that their true desire is simply to not enforce these laws at all.

While frustrating, it is crucial for everyone to remain vigilant and to challenge these misleading narratives from the left as they emerge. In a few years, these same claims will likely be presented as established facts, and many archived media outlets will support their distortions.

If you encounter one of these falsehoods, call it out. Do not allow it to stand unchallenged, as this is the only way to reclaim the truth. It appears likely that Democrats will persist in their dissemination of untruths, but there is no obligation for you to accept them as fact.
