SouthernWorldwide.com – Representative Lauren Boebert, a prominent conservative voice, reacted with visible frustration and anger when questioned by a reporter about allegations involving fellow Republican Thomas Massie.
The incident occurred as Boebert was discussing the political landscape and the impact of President Donald Trump’s endorsement strategy in Republican primaries.
When the reporter pressed her on accusations made by a former congressional staffer, Cynthia West, concerning Massie and an alleged sexual encounter with Boebert, the Colorado Republican became incensed.
“If you’re gonna bring me into this, like, the sexist stuff is like out of control,” Boebert stated, her voice rising. “So there’s your clickbait that you were looking for.”
Following this outburst, Boebert refused to elaborate further on the allegations and ended the interview.
Prior to this exchange, Boebert had been addressing questions about whether President Trump’s efforts to unseat incumbent Republicans were proving detrimental to the GOP’s broader agenda.
The allegations surfaced from Cynthia West, a former congressional staffer who previously worked for Representative Victoria Spartz. West accused Massie of boasting to her about an alleged sexual encounter with Boebert, which reportedly occurred shortly after Massie’s wife’s passing.
West also claimed that Massie had offered her $5,000 to drop a wrongful termination lawsuit she had filed against Spartz, who is considered an ally of Massie. These accusations emerged just a week before Massie’s defeat in the Republican primary on May 19th.
“I don’t want to talk about anybody’s exes and their crazy s– – – that they do,” Boebert told the reporter, expressing her unwillingness to engage with the subject matter.
Before the conversation took a sharp turn, Boebert was providing her perspective on Trump’s strategy of supporting primary challengers against established Republican incumbents. She was asked if this approach was backfiring on the GOP.
“I think most of the folks that have lost their primaries, they were backfiring on the GOP agenda — Cassidy, Cornyn,” Boebert responded, referencing other primary races.
She then added, “I mean, obviously Thomas Massie is the only one that I’m a little sad about.”
Boebert was also queried about Massie’s recent announcement that he intends to seek re-election in 2028. This announcement has fueled speculation about a potential presidential run in 2028, as Massie himself stated uncertainty about the specific office he would pursue.
“I haven’t made a final decision about which office to seek, if I run,” Massie had written in a post on X, announcing his re-election filing with the Federal Election Commission.
Boebert initially indicated that she was unaware of Massie’s future political plans. However, she quickly became agitated when the reporter shifted the focus to the allegations made by West.
“He filed for something,” she said. “He didn’t specify what and I don’t know if he’s going to move forward with that or not. I don’t know.”
Adding a seemingly dismissive remark, Boebert continued, “Hopefully he leaves here and makes some money.”
It was at this point that the reporter began to directly question Boebert about the allegations from Massie’s alleged ex-girlfriend, which led to Boebert’s expletive-laden reaction.
After her strong rebuke, Boebert reiterated her refusal to discuss the matter further and proceeded to walk away from the interview.
