GOP victor in CA House primary cites major momentum shift in deep blue state: ‘Californians are tired’

SouthernWorldwide.com – A Republican congressional candidate in California is highlighting what she describes as a significant shift in political sentiment, attributing it to widespread dissatisfaction with decades of Democratic leadership in the traditionally liberal state.

Jenny Rae Le Roux, director of CAL DOGE and a Republican candidate, believes that a growing backlash against long-standing Democratic control is fueling this political transformation. This sentiment was reportedly evident in recent primary elections, with strong showings from gubernatorial hopeful Steve Hilton and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt.

Le Roux expressed that many Californians are aware that the state’s challenges and the exodus of residents are direct consequences of 60 years of Democratic governance. She asserted that these policies have not served the best interests of the people.

She further criticized incumbent Dave Min, arguing that he has failed to adequately represent the diverse needs of his constituents. Le Roux stated that her campaign has already begun to address the issues that Min has neglected, effectively stepping in to fill the void.

Le Roux emphasized her campaign’s commitment to serving the district, contrasting it with Min’s perceived inaction. “It’s just to do the thing that Dave Min is not doing, which is to represent the district,” she remarked. “We are out in every community. We have a precinct-by-precinct operation. Anyone who wants to meet with us, we will meet with them.”

According to Le Roux, residents who have been unable to find solutions from Min’s office regarding issues such as fraud, veterans’ affairs, or housing are now seeking assistance from Republicans like herself.

“People are frustrated by his office,” she stated. “They’re not responsive. They ask us for help with fraud issues, issues with HUD and veterans’ issues, and we’re making calls and getting things done for the people in the district.”

However, a spokesperson for Dave Min, identified as Elsasser, dismissed Le Roux’s claims. “Jenny Rae Le Roux’s lame attacks reflect both a lack of familiarity with Dave Min’s office, which has brought back over $5.7 million to constituents, and with the issues that Orange County families care about,” Elsasser said.

The race between Min and Le Roux is currently classified as “Solid D” by The Cook Political Report, indicating a strong Democratic advantage. This designation underscores the challenges Republicans face as they attempt to maintain their narrow majority in the House of Representatives.

The prolonged period of Democratic dominance in California has faced increasing scrutiny. This scrutiny is partly fueled by investigations initiated by the Trump administration into alleged fraud within healthcare, homelessness spending, and nonprofit organizations. Le Roux posits that these issues are contributing to residents leaving the state and driving voters towards the Republican party.

HOUSE COMMITTEE LAUNCHES INVESTIGATION INTO ‘RAMPANT’ CALIFORNIA HOSPICE FRAUD

In a significant development last month, federal authorities intervened by suspending 800 California-based hospice and home health providers. This action was part of a broader Medicare fraud crackdown, which reportedly targeted foreign-linked criminal networks accused of defrauding taxpayers of over $1 billion.

Le Roux highlighted her work with CAL DOGE, a private-sector initiative co-founded by Steve Hilton. She claimed that the organization is actively uncovering fraud within the state and is working to dismantle not only fraudulent systems but also to ensure the indictment of those involved within the next six months.

“We’re finding the fraud that’s happening through Sacramento,” she stated. “They’ve been completely silent about it. They haven’t fought it themselves because they’re in on it.”

Since its inception in early 2026, CAL DOGE reports having identified nearly $700 million in misused taxpayer funds. Le Roux indicated her intention to continue collaborating with Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton to combat fraud.

“We’ve got some fraud-fighting on our hands, and I’ll work with Steve up and down the state to make sure our money is being spent wisely before either one of us is in office,” Le Roux commented, emphasizing a commitment to fiscal responsibility.

Despite her strong criticisms of Democratic policies and practices, Le Roux also stressed the importance of maintaining constructive relationships across party lines. “it’s really important to keep relationships with people in other parties,” she concluded, suggesting a nuanced approach to political engagement.
