SouthernWorldwide.com – A touching moment unfolded during the recent England men’s national soccer team camp as superstar striker Harry Kane presented a special England legacy cap to former Three Lions striker Peter Crouch.
The heartwarming exchange was captured in a video shared by the England team on Thursday morning. Crouch, who is currently serving as a FOX Sports World Cup analyst contributing to the 2026 World Cup coverage, received the cap from Kane.
This gesture comes after a notable encounter between the two forwards following England’s victory over Mexico in the round of 16. Kane was instrumental in that 3-2 win, contributing both a goal and an assist. Crouch was present in Mexico City at the time, as part of FOX Sports’ “World Cup NOW” broadcast.
Peter Crouch boasts an impressive international career for England. He represented the nation in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. His scoring prowess was also evident during qualifying campaigns, netting five goals in the 2008 Euro qualifiers and four in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Throughout his international tenure, Crouch earned 42 caps for England, a testament to his consistent presence and contributions to the national team.
Beyond his international duties, Crouch enjoyed a lengthy and distinguished 18-season career in the Premier League. He played for a variety of clubs, including one season each with Norwich City, Southampton, and Burnley.
His Premier League journey also saw him have one-year stints with Portsmouth, three seasons with Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur, and a significant eight seasons with Stoke City.
Standing at an imposing 6-foot-7, Crouch holds a notable Premier League record: the most career header goals, with an impressive 53.
Harry Kane, now a prominent figure for both Bayern Munich and formerly Tottenham Hotspur, is also making his mark on the current tournament. He has already scored six goals in the 2026 World Cup.
Kane has found the back of the net in four of England’s five matches thus far in the tournament. He has achieved two braces, scoring twice against Croatia on June 17 and again against DR Congo on July 1.
The England team, under Kane’s leadership, secured the top spot in Group L with a record of two wins and one draw. They have since advanced by defeating Panama 2-0 in the round of 32 and DR Congo 2-1 in the round of 16.
Their next challenge will be a quarterfinal clash against Norway, scheduled to take place on July 11 at Miami Stadium in Miami, Florida.
