SouthernWorldwide.com – The New York Knicks have secured their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999, completing a dominant four-game sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers with a resounding 130-93 victory in Game 4.
The Knicks asserted control from the outset of the decisive game, establishing an early double-digit lead that the Cavaliers were unable to overcome.
New York showcased its offensive prowess, sinking 19 of 43 three-point attempts while also asserting dominance on the boards.

The performance drew a sharp critique from OutKick founder Clay Travis, who characterized Cleveland’s effort as a surrender following their Game 1 collapse.
“The Cavs just totally quit this series after the fourth-quarter collapse in Game 1. Embarrassing effort since then,” Travis posted on X. “Congrats to the Knicks, party like it’s 1999.”

This decisive victory marked a significant reversal for the Cavaliers, who were widely considered the most well-rounded team in the Eastern Conference entering the series.
With over eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson opted to pull his starters, signaling an acknowledgment of the series’ outcome as the Knicks celebrated on the court.
Earlier, Atkinson had suggested that the Cavaliers had “analytically” won two of the first three games. However, New York’s overwhelming physical dominance proved to be the deciding factor.

Karl-Anthony Towns was a force in the paint, contributing 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson directed the offense flawlessly, committing zero turnovers.
Despite a strong 31-point effort from Donovan Mitchell, the Cavaliers could not contain the Knicks’ relentless defense, which suffocated Cleveland’s perimeter game for the fourth consecutive contest.
The victory also extended New York’s impressive streak of six consecutive road playoff wins.
This NBA Finals berth represents a significant achievement for the Knicks organization, particularly after parting ways with Tom Thibodeau last season and appointing Mike Brown amid considerable skepticism and pressure to deliver immediate success. Under Brown’s guidance, the Knicks have transformed into the league’s hottest team, entering the Finals with an undefeated streak spanning over a month.
New York now awaits the winner of the Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs. The NBA Finals are scheduled to commence on June 3.
The path to the Larry O’Brien Trophy will indeed pass through Madison Square Garden.
