SouthernWorldwide.com – U.S. Representative Thomas Massie, who recently lost the Republican primary in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District to Ed Gallrein, a challenger endorsed by President Donald Trump, is signaling a potential return to politics.

Massie has filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for the 2028 House race. This filing allows him to continue raising funds for his political operations, supporting his current role and future candidacy for federal office.

He stated that he has not yet made a definitive decision regarding which office he will seek, should he decide to run again.

In a previous statement made at a University of Louisville College Republicans event on April 6, Massie had indicated a different path. He had said that if he lost his primary election on May 19th, he would not pursue any further government roles.

Ed Gallrein, a former Navy SEAL, secured a decisive victory in the GOP U.S. House primary in Kentucky. He defeated Massie, who had been serving in Congress since late 2012.

Massie also posted on X last week, addressing the outcome of the election. He stated that there is a “quiet all out war for the future of our country” and urged against misdirecting precious resources. He expressed his belief that his loss was not due to fraudulent votes, mail-in ballots, hacking, or tabulation errors.

While respecting those who wish to ensure election integrity, Massie announced he would not be requesting a recount.

During an interview on “Meet the Press” on Sunday, moderator Kristen Welker inquired if Massie was contemplating a presidential run in 2028.
