Slot confirmed the situation regarding Salah and Konate. “Mo will be available tomorrow for only a few minutes, but hopefully can come in,” he stated. “Ibou [Konate] is OK, trained with us.”
Regarding Alisson, Slot added, “Alisson trains with us again, let’s see where he is tomorrow, if he is ready already or has to wait one more week.”
While the return of key senior players brings a sense of optimism, the availability of Wirtz, a summer signing for 2025, remains uncertain due to a medical issue that has disrupted his preparations.
Slot further elaborated on Wirtz’s condition. “Stomach infection, so let’s see how fit he is for tomorrow,” he explained. “He’s on antibiotics. Let’s see if he’s ready to play tomorrow.”
Should Wirtz be unable to play, Liverpool would miss a vital creative force, especially against an Aston Villa side that is also competing fiercely for a top-four finish.
