SouthernWorldwide.com – Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the current Health and Human Services Secretary, has released a new video showcasing his handling of a venomous rattlesnake, a move that appears to address concerns raised by critics following his previous interaction with non-venomous snakes.

The video, shared on Instagram, features Kennedy Jr. and his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, responding to what he described as “many comments about venomous snakes.” This latest footage comes just a day after a video of him catching black racer snakes on Dr. Mehmet Oz’s patio gained significant attention.

The new clip begins in Kennedy Jr.’s home office, where he is alerted to the presence of a snake in his driveway. He promptly grabs a bucket and a small net, heading outside to address the situation.

Upon reaching the driveway, Kennedy Jr. carefully captures a Western Diamondback rattlesnake. Onlookers express their amazement as he skillfully handles the venomous reptile.

He then places the snake into a bucket and later proceeds to hold it up for the camera, demonstrating how to identify it. Kennedy Jr. explained, “His fangs are in there. I don’t want to touch them. This is a beautiful snake. This is a Western Diamondback. You can tell by these rings at the end of his tail.”

He requested a pillowcase from his wife, Cheryl Hines, for the safe transport and release of the snake back into its natural habitat.

The Instagram post appears to be a direct response to the public’s reaction to a video Kennedy Jr. had previously shared on X. In that earlier clip, he was seen bare-handed with two black North American racer snakes on Dr. Oz’s patio, a scene that visibly distressed Hines.

During the encounter with the black racers, Hines was heard pleading with her husband, “Honey, honey… why?” as he pursued the snakes. Kennedy Jr. then proceeded to grab both snakes by their tails, enduring repeated bites to his hands.

He later posted this video on X with the caption, “Cheryl cheerleads the removal of a pair of Black Racers from Dr Oz’s patio.”

According to information from the Florida Museum of Natural History, black racer snakes are not venomous and are typically harmless to humans, although they may bite defensively.

The contrast between the two videos—one featuring non-venomous snakes and the other a venomous rattlesnake—has led to discussions among social media users regarding the potential risks involved in Kennedy Jr.’s actions.
