SouthernWorldwide.com – Stefon Diggs, a prominent wide receiver, is actively seeking a new NFL team following his tenure with the New England Patriots, which concluded with a Super Bowl LX defeat.

With NFL training camps scheduled to commence at the end of the month, Diggs, who is entering his 12th season, recently made a bold assertion on his YouTube channel.

Diggs declared himself to be the premier No. 2 wide receiver in the league and elaborated on his reasoning.

“Everyone has a No. 1 receiver,” Diggs stated. “Setting aside opportunities, some might identify seven top-tier No. 1 receivers. In my view, I can compete with anyone, but let’s consider those as your top options. You cannot name a better No. 2 receiver than me. There isn’t a team with a No. 2 receiver who surpasses me. Let’s give players their due credit and acknowledge their No. 1 status. Now, name your current No. 2 receiver. Tell me their salary. My final question is: is he better than me?”

In his 11th season, his first and only with the Patriots, Diggs amassed 1,013 receiving yards on 85 receptions from 102 targets, scoring four touchdowns. This marked Diggs’ seventh 1,000-yard season in the NFL, a feat he has achieved in seven of the last eight seasons.

The 32-year-old receiver acknowledged the possibility of being a No. 2 option, suggesting a willingness to accept a reduced salary to join a team he believes can contend for the playoffs and, ultimately, the Super Bowl. However, no team has yet made a definitive move to acquire him.

Questions have arisen regarding whether off-the-field issues might be influencing potential team interest. In December, Diggs faced serious allegations, including felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a dispute with his private chef.

Nevertheless, Diggs was acquitted by a jury. The NFL subsequently concluded its review, citing insufficient evidence to warrant a suspension for violating its personal conduct policy. Diggs’ attorney remarked that “professional athletes often find themselves in the spotlight” following the not-guilty verdict.

The Patriots released Diggs in March. He has since remained in training and has been exploring his next career opportunity after being cleared by the league last month.

Potential landing spots for Diggs could include the Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants, Washington Commanders, Kansas City Chiefs, or even a reunion with the Buffalo Bills and quarterback Josh Allen, with whom he developed a strong rapport, earning four consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2020 to 2023.
