SouthernWorldwide.com – WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley has revealed the reason behind her recent absence from in-ring action, disclosing a slight tear in her meniscus.
Ripley, who successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy, has made limited appearances on “Friday Night SmackDown” recently. She was notably absent from Night of Champions last month and has not been featured on the show to support her on-screen partners, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, in their ongoing feud with Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab since June 5.
During an appearance at a Power Slap event on Friday, Ripley provided an update on her health status. She explained that she sustained a minor tear in her meniscus, which is currently in the healing process.
“I hurt my knee. I got a slight tear in my meniscus, it’s just healing. It’s getting there. It’s getting stronger,” Ripley told content creator Nina Drama. “I just can’t bend it very well. Kind of need to bend, guys.”
The reigning WWE Women’s Champion stated that she does not have a definitive timeline for her return to the ring.
“I tore it in a really weird spot, so it’s kind of a little bit up in the air with just how fast my body recovers,” she elaborated. “But I’ve been out for probably about a month now. I think it’s been a month and one week.”
Ripley described her current physical condition, noting that while she feels improvement, the knee still experiences discomfort. “It feels better. It still starts to hurt and throb and it gets tired,” she said. “I can’t get up or bend down really or kind of move side to side while crouching. We’ll see how it goes.”
Rhea Ripley is recognized as one of the most prominent and popular Superstars on the WWE roster, regardless of gender.
She originally claimed the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42, defeating Jade Cargill in a highly anticipated match.
