SouthernWorldwide.com – Former President Donald Trump has revealed that he has issued instructions to retaliate against Iran with unprecedented force should the country attempt to assassinate him.
Trump stated in an interview with the New York Post on Friday that he has been a target of Iran for a significant period. He detailed his directive: “The only thing is, I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before.”
He emphasized that Iran’s desire for his death is not a new development. This comes amidst recent reports suggesting Israel had flagged an Iranian plot aimed at his assassination, though Trump downplayed the significance of this specific intelligence.
Trump asserted that Israel’s intelligence did not present anything new to him. He reiterated his long-standing position as Iran’s primary target, framing it as an inherent risk of his public life.
Iran’s animosity towards Trump intensified following his 2020 decision to order a strike that resulted in the death of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. More recently, during the funeral for Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, mourners were heard calling for Trump’s demise.
Chants of “I swear by the blood of the Supreme Leader, Trump, we will kill you!” were heard, accompanied by women holding signs with the message “Kill Trump.”
Domestically, Trump has also faced assassination attempts. In July 2024, he narrowly escaped an attack during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a bullet grazed his ear.
Meanwhile, the geopolitical landscape between Washington and Tehran remains volatile. Tensions have escalated following Trump’s declaration that a ceasefire was over, after Iran attacked three ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump announced on Truth Social that Iran had requested continued dialogue. However, he made it clear that the United States had unequivocally communicated that the ceasefire was terminated.
During a press conference at the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, earlier this week, Trump had alluded to Iran’s persistent ambitions to target him.
He commented on the cyclical nature of leadership changes in Iran, noting that leaders have come and gone. Trump then extended this observation to his own potential fate, acknowledging that he too could be a target, given he is their primary focus. He characterized the Iranian regime as “scum.”
