Trump: Iran’s Proposal Backtracks on Enriched Material, Questions Their Intelligence

SouthernWorldwide.com – President Donald Trump has sharply criticized Iran’s latest peace proposal, labeling it a “piece of garbage” and questioning the intelligence of Iranian leaders. Speaking from the Oval Office on Monday, Trump asserted that only “stupid people” in Iran would doubt his commitment to preventing the nation from acquiring nuclear weapons.

According to Trump, Iran’s most recent offer contradicted a previous agreement to relinquish its enriched uranium. He expressed frustration with Iran’s negotiating tactics, stating, “They come back, and they want to negotiate, and they give us a stupid — it’s a stupid proposal and nobody would take it.” He added, “Although Obama would have taken it, Biden would have taken it.”

Trump explained that Iranian officials had initially consented to the removal of enriched nuclear material from a site he claimed was “obliterated” by U.S. strikes. However, this crucial commitment was conspicuously absent from the written proposal submitted to Washington.

“They said you’re going to have to take it: We were going to go with them,” Trump recounted. “But they changed their mind because they didn’t put it in the paper.”

He further elaborated on the delay and the content of the document. “When they sent us this document that we waited four days for, that should have taken 10 minutes to do: Look, very simple, we get that, they guarantee no nuclear weapons for a very long period of time and a couple of other minor things, but they just can’t get there,” Trump said. “So they agree with us, and then they take it back.”

The President made it clear that the United States would not countenance any agreement that leaves Iran with a potential pathway to developing nuclear weapons. “The plan is very simple. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, and they won’t have a nuclear weapon,” Trump declared. “And they didn’t want to go that far.”

Expressing disbelief, Trump questioned the decision-making of Iranian officials. “If you can believe it, how stupid. Are they stupid people?” he asked. “They didn’t want to believe it. They think that, well, I’ll get tired of this, or I’ll get bored, or I’ll have some pressure. But there’s no pressure. There’s no pressure at all.”

Trump issued a stark warning, indicating that the ceasefire with Iran was in grave danger following this latest development. “It’s unbelievably weak,” he stated, referring to the proposal. “After reading that piece of garbage they sent us. I didn’t even finish reading it.”

“I’m not going to waste my time reading it,” he added.

He dramatically illustrated the precarious state of the ceasefire: “I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support, where the doctor walks in and says, ‘Sir, your loved one has approximately a 1% chance of living.’”

When questioned about the weekend proposal, Trump reiterated his assessment: “It was just unacceptable. I have the best plan ever. And Iran has been defeated militarily. Totally.”

Trump reaffirmed his unwavering stance on the issue, stating, “Iran can not have a nuclear weapon. They’re very dangerous. They’re very volatile.”

According to Trump, internal divisions within Iran are hindering progress. He suggested that while some Iranian officials are eager to reach a deal, hard-liners are actively obstructing any agreement. “In Iran, they have the moderates – they’re dying to make a deal – and then you have the lunatics,” Trump commented. “And I guess they’re a little bit afraid of the lunatics.”
