SouthernWorldwide.com – President Donald Trump has a secret directive stored within the Oval Office, intended for Vice President JD Vance, should Vance ever need to assume the presidency. This was revealed by Sebastian Gorka, a deputy assistant to the president, during a recent podcast appearance.

“There is a letter in the drawer in the Resolute Desk that is addressed to the vice president should something happen to him,” Gorka stated on the “Pod Force One” podcast. This revelation comes amidst heightened concerns for the president’s safety.

President Trump has been subjected to numerous threats against his life. A particularly alarming incident occurred just weeks prior to this announcement, with an attempted assassination at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. This event has amplified worries regarding the president’s security and the escalating political violence attributed to left-wing groups.

Gorka, however, expressed skepticism about the likelihood of foreign nations attempting to harm the president, especially considering Trump’s upcoming attendance at a critical summit in Beijing. He elaborated on the motivations behind such international engagement.

“Everybody wants recognition from this man. This is the most powerful individual we have seen since the likes of Eisenhower. Right? This is a man everybody wants to be at the table with him, to have the state dinner, to have the recognition,” Gorka explained.

He further posited that any action undermining the president’s standing would contradict the very recognition these foreign entities seek. This suggests a strategic calculation where harming Trump would be counterproductive to their own diplomatic or political goals.

Regarding the existence of such protocols, Gorka assured listeners, “We have protocols, trust me. Not ones I can discuss, but we have protocols.” This hints at a layered security and succession plan that is not publicly disclosed for obvious security reasons.

President Trump himself had previously spoken about having “very firm instructions” in place should he be targeted by the Iranian regime. He conveyed this in an interview with NewsNation back in January.

“Like, if I were here, and they were making that threat to somebody, even not even a president, but somebody like they did with me, I would absolutely hit them so hard,” Trump had stated at the time. He emphasized a severe retaliatory response, adding, “Anything happens, they’re going to wipe them off the face of this earth.”

The constitutional framework clearly designates the vice president as the immediate successor to the president. The Presidential Succession Act of 1947 further outlines the line of succession beyond the vice president. This order begins with the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate, followed by eligible Cabinet officials.
