SouthernWorldwide.com – President Donald Trump has announced his nomination of Lance Schroyer to serve as the next permanent director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The announcement was made by President Trump on Saturday via his Truth Social platform. He highlighted Schroyer’s extensive background in law enforcement, stating that Schroyer possesses over 29 years of experience in Oklahoma, a state he noted his victories in all 77 counties during the 2016, 2020, and 2024 elections.
Trump further described Schroyer as a former Oklahoma State Trooper and a United States Marine. He characterized Schroyer as a “PATRIOT with real operational experience” and a “proven leader with DECADES of experience locking up the worst of the worst.” The president also pointed to Schroyer’s role in spearheading 287g Law Enforcement partnerships with ICE, emphasizing his firsthand experience in removing “Illegal Aliens OFF our streets.”
“Lance has firsthand experience getting Illegal Aliens OFF our streets and, just like ME and our Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, he LOVES the men and women of ICE,” Trump wrote, expressing his strong endorsement.
The president elaborated on Schroyer’s qualifications, asserting that he “has what it takes to DETAIN AND DEPORT Illegal Alien Criminals, including murders, rapists, and drug traffickers at a rate never seen before!” He reiterated his administration’s achievements in immigration enforcement, claiming the “HIGHEST Daily Arrest Rate by ICE and CBP than ANY other President, by far.”
Trump urged the Senate to confirm Schroyer’s nomination “IMMEDIATELY — Do not delay,” concluding with the statement, “Together, we will MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN.”
If confirmed, Schroyer would succeed Acting Director David Venturella. The nomination comes amid ongoing efforts by the Trump administration to bolster immigration enforcement and address illegal immigration.
U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin also voiced his support for the nomination, calling Trump’s choice a “great pick.” Mullin expressed confidence in Schroyer’s leadership abilities and his “firsthand experience” in empowering ICE personnel.
“I’m confident Lance’s strong leadership and firsthand experience will empower the men and women of ICE to deport criminal illegal aliens, secure the homeland, and protect the American people,” Mullin stated on the social media platform X.
