SouthernWorldwide.com – President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning against any actions that could jeopardize national security by blocking the construction of a $400 million White House ballroom and rooftop drone base. He directly criticized U.S. District Judge Richard Leon, accusing him of succumbing to a “serial plaintiff” and a “ridiculous lawsuit” that puts American security at risk.
“The DronePort at the White House Ballroom will be, perhaps, the most sophisticated anywhere in the World!” Trump declared on Sunday via Truth Social. He emphasized that the facility is intended to safeguard Washington, D.C., for the foreseeable future.
“Judge Richard Leon should stop playing games with America’s Security!” Trump asserted.
Trump urged Leon to dismiss the lawsuit, which he attributed to a woman he characterized as “highly litigious.” He further warned that the judge would be held accountable should an attack occur at the White House.
“If anything happens, he will be held responsible for the Death and Destruction caused to our Country,” Trump added. He criticized the judge for allowing “Top Secret” information to be exposed based on what he deemed a frivolous lawsuit filed by a serial plaintiff whose personal “strolling” might be disrupted by the new structure. Trump insisted this individual lacked any legal standing.
“With the advent of highly sophisticated, and powerful, modern day weaponry, we can no longer defend Washington, D.C., with rifles and pistols, alone. This ridiculous lawsuit must be dismissed, IMMEDIATELY!” Trump demanded.

This statement followed the Justice Department’s renewed efforts to persuade Leon to lift an injunction that has halted progress on parts of the project. In a court filing, the department argued that a recent shooting incident near a White House checkpoint highlighted the urgent need for enhanced security measures at the executive mansion.
“In light of the recent attacks against President Trump’s life — including two attempts in less than a month — the injunction entered by this Court for the benefit of a strolling woman, who filed suit against the East Wing Project long before she knew what was going to be built (This is a woman who is a known serial plaintiff throughout Washington, D.C.), and who has absolutely no standing, must be immediately vacated, and this suit, which is a complete embarrassment to our Country, must be dismissed,” wrote acting Attorney General Todd Blanche in a five-page filing.
“This is a terrible, tremendously harmful case to the United States of America, and all it stands for!” he stated.
The individual responsible for the shooting at the White House checkpoint was killed by officers after being wounded.
In April, Judge Leon had ruled that Trump did not possess the legal authority to proceed with the ballroom construction without congressional approval. He subsequently issued an injunction to halt “above-ground construction of the planned ballroom.” However, an appeals court temporarily suspended this order, permitting construction to continue until June.
The lawsuit was initiated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a nonprofit organization chartered by Congress. The group has indicated its intention to pursue the case, even after the Justice Department cited a foiled attack at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in April as grounds to lift the injunction and dismiss the lawsuit.
Previously, Trump had revealed that the ballroom project would incorporate a rooftop drone base and a six-story underground military complex, which would include a hospital and research facilities.
During a tour with reporters, Trump explained that the ballroom’s roof was designed for military use and engineered to withstand a direct attack.
“The entire roof is built for military,” Trump stated. “They have a massive drone capacity. Not only is it drone-proof, if a drone hits it, it bounces off, it won’t have any impact. But it’s also meant as a drone port that would protect all of Washington.”
The proposed 90,000-square-foot ballroom has become a contentious issue, representing a larger debate over presidential authority, security funding, and the preservation of historic federal buildings. Its size would significantly surpass that of the existing historic White House complex.
Trump has defended the ballroom as essential for securely hosting large events of up to 1,000 people, citing the inadequacy of current White House entertainment spaces.
The White House has outlined the project’s security features, which include titanium fencing, reinforced roofing, specialized thick glass, and underground facilities. Trump informed reporters that the roof would be constructed from “impenetrable steel” and that the fencing was robust enough to resist even a bulldozer.
As of now, Judge Leon has not yet rendered a decision on the Justice Department’s most recent request to dissolve the injunction and dismiss the case.
