SouthernWorldwide.com – A local Virginia Democrat has strongly criticized the Department of Justice’s civil rights investigation into Fairfax Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano, a prosecutor backed by George Soros. The supervisor described the probe as a “hit job.”

The investigation was recently initiated due to allegations that Descano’s office provided preferential treatment to undocumented immigrants accused of crimes.

Dan Storck, a Fairfax County Supervisor representing the Mount Vernon District, expressed his skepticism about the investigation’s motives. He suggested that it bore the hallmarks of how the Trump administration typically operates.

“Given how the Trump administration does their job, I would say it’s likely to be a hit job because that’s what they do,” Storck stated.

Storck views the probe as another instance of the Trump administration targeting individuals they disagree with. He believes the administration fabricates issues and then pursues those they oppose.

“They make up stuff and then they go after them,” he commented. “I wish I could be more confident in the Department of Justice right now, but I can’t.”

Descano’s office faced significant criticism after it was reported that they repeatedly dismissed serious charges. This occurred in a case involving a suspect later accused of the murder of Stephanie Minter, a 41-year-old mother, at a bus stop in Fairfax in February. The suspect was identified as Abdul Jalloh, a national of Sierra Leone, who reportedly had a substantial criminal record with over two dozen prior arrests.

While acknowledging the need to hold repeat offenders accountable, Storck emphasized that the ultimate responsibility lies with the court system.

“The key is that we need to address folks who have a history of not abiding by the law and we need to make sure that those individuals have consequences,” he said. “In the end, I realize that’s the courts, but that’s something that I feel very strongly about.”

Storck revealed that he and Descano have had discussions, and both agree on the principle that individuals who break the law should face repercussions.

“Steve and I have had several conversations, and he understands the importance to our community to ensure that folks who are consistently not complying with the law are held accountable and let the courts, in my mind, do their job,” Storck explained.

He suggested that the Department of Justice should direct its focus towards “significant and serious” criminal activities rather than pursuing investigations into prosecutors like Descano.

“In general, we focus on individuals who either have a criminal history or are engaging in criminal acts that are significant and serious.”

Storck also highlighted the importance of collaboration among law enforcement agencies to ensure community safety. He stated that law enforcement should work with all necessary parties to achieve this goal.

“I work with judges, prosecutors and police because I deeply believe that the people in Mount Vernon District have a right to the enjoyment of their community without risk of violence,” he asserted.

He further committed to continuing his efforts to keep dangerous individuals off the streets.

“I’ll always fight hard to ensure that people that are risking that safety and security of the folks in Mount Vernon district are not walking the streets,” Storck vowed.

Records indicate that Descano’s campaign has received substantial financial backing, exceeding $600,000, from the Justice and Public Safety PAC. This PAC is primarily funded by George Soros, a prominent Democratic donor.

Descano, along with Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid, recently testified before the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement on Thursday.
