SouthernWorldwide.com – Former President Joe Biden found himself in a moment of apparent confusion following the dedication ceremony for the Barack Obama Presidential Center on Thursday.

Video footage captured Biden, after removing his sunglasses, looking around the crowd as his wife, Jill Biden, and former President Obama departed the stage, leaving him momentarily behind.

At one point, Biden was heard calling out, “where’s my granddaughter?”

This incident occurred at the conclusion of a high-profile event in Chicago, which gathered prominent figures including former Presidents Obama, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and current Vice President Kamala Harris, alongside numerous entertainers and political personalities.

The moment has also added to ongoing discussions about Biden’s health and his decision to seek a second term in 2024.

Earlier this week, during an appearance at New York’s 92nd Street Y, Hillary Clinton expressed her view that Biden’s re-election bid was a “terrible mistake.” She suggested that the Democratic party might have been in a stronger position had there been a primary contest before the 2024 election.

“Very sadly, I believe whoever emerged from that contest, whether it was the vice president or a governor or a senator or anybody else, would have beaten Donald Trump,” Clinton stated. “So I think it was a terrible miscalculation on the part of President Biden.”

Biden had faced significant pressure from within the Democratic Party leadership to withdraw from the presidential race after a widely criticized debate performance against Trump. Despite public commentary and calls for him to step aside, Biden remained in the race for over three weeks following the debate.

Adding to these concerns, former First Lady Jill Biden recently wrote that she had feared her husband might have suffered a stroke after his widely criticized debate performance against Donald Trump in June 2024. She implied that he should not have continued his re-election campaign.

The former president is also involved in a legal dispute with the Justice Department concerning the release of audio recordings from his interviews with former special counsel Robert Hur. Hur’s investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents had intensified questions about his age and memory.

In those audio recordings, Hur described the then-sitting President Biden as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” This characterization became a focal point in the debate surrounding Biden’s mental fitness for the presidency.

The 83-year-old former president is reportedly battling Stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.
