SouthernWorldwide.com – The White House has strongly criticized mainstream media outlets for allegedly amplifying propaganda from the Iranian regime concerning the terms of a nuclear deal.
The administration’s ire stems from reports in the American press that cited Iranian state media, suggesting Tehran has no intention of adhering to nuclear inspection commitments that Vice President JD Vance claims were agreed upon.
An official stated that the American press has been “mindlessly parroting hardliner propaganda from the Iranian regime” throughout the negotiation process.
The official emphasized that the President and Vice President, along with the U.S. negotiating team, are working diligently to secure a favorable deal for Americans, and the updates provided have been truthful.
This criticism follows reports from various outlets that highlighted Iranian state media’s claims about inspections not being honored, despite assurances from Vance and the White House that the deal’s terms included such provisions.
President Donald Trump also weighed in on the matter via a Truth Social post, asserting that Iran has fully agreed to high-level nuclear inspections for the foreseeable future.
Trump accused the “Fake News” of attempting to downplay any potential U.S. victory in the negotiations.
Recent reports also focused on an alleged snub of Vance by Qatar’s Prime Minister and chief negotiator, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who was seen greeting Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instead.
However, Al Thani, in an interview with Al Jazeera, denied snubbing Vance, explaining that he had already spent hours with him and had not yet greeted Sharif.
He attributed the misrepresentation of the encounter to the media, stating they “made the issue too big.”
Further reports cited Iranian state media suggesting that Iran had walked away from the negotiating table while Vance and the U.S. delegation were present in Switzerland.
Vance, speaking to the press, acknowledged that there were threats to walk out but denied the reports that the Iranians had actually left the negotiating table.
“They didn’t walk out, and their technical team is still here in Bürgenstock, working with our technical team,” Vance stated.
He added that when threats are made without basis in reality, the President of the United States is compelled to set the record straight.
Vance characterized the situation as involving “a little bit of threatening, there was a little bit of whining, but at the end of the day, the talks continued, and we made great progress.”
During a press conference, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s stance that it will not negotiate its missile defense capabilities with any nation.
Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s belief that regional peace and stability can only be achieved through honest dialogue and intra-regional cooperation.
President Trump, when asked about the nuclear inspections, told reporters that he expects them to occur “at the appropriate time.”
