“She’s doing a tremendous job. Mayor Bass has to have a second term and I’m excited to say that,” Johnson stated in the video. Notably, Johnson’s endorsement did not address a significant point of contention that has reportedly helped Pratt gain traction in the mayoral race: Bass’s handling of the 2025 wildfires. These devastating fires resulted in numerous fatalities and caused billions of dollars in damage.
Spencer Pratt has continued to publicly criticize Bass’s response to the wildfire crisis, making it a central theme in his campaign. This criticism has resonated with some voters and political observers.
Jeanie Buss, who is the controlling owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, appeared to signal her support for Pratt last month. Reports indicate that Buss made a maximum legal donation of $1,800 to Pratt’s mayoral campaign, according to FOX 11 in Los Angeles.
Adding to the narrative, Pratt was also seen with Buss at a Lakers playoff game recently. This sighting further fueled speculation about Buss’s allegiances in the mayoral contest.
