SouthernWorldwide.com – A woman on a morning dog walk in a Canadian wooded area had a terrifying encounter with a bear, which she managed to capture on her phone.

The video, which has since gone viral, shows the woman repeatedly shouting at the bear and making noise in an attempt to scare it away.

Despite her efforts, the bear continued to follow her down the path, initially moving slowly before suddenly charging.

The bear circled the woman as she backed away, continuing to scream for it to leave them alone.

For almost two minutes, the bear would charge towards her and then retreat, rearing up on its hind legs multiple times, highlighting its imposing size.

The woman eventually managed to distract the bear by throwing her water bottle behind a gate.

The video concludes as she quickly retreats after the bear went to investigate the object she had thrown.

According to Wilderness Escape Adventures in Alberta, who interviewed the woman for a TikTok post, she had just picked up her morning coffee and was only planning a short walk with her dog near her campsite.

The bear appeared just as she had attached her dog’s leash and was starting to head back to the camp.

Throughout the ordeal, the woman remained composed and did not run until the bear had moved away from her.

Wildlife experts advise against running from a bear, as this can trigger their predatory instincts. Bears are also capable of running at speeds up to 35 mph, significantly faster than humans.
