SouthernWorldwide.com – A seemingly public disagreement between then-President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was, in fact, a carefully orchestrated strategy to present a united front against Iran, according to an analyst.

This strategic maneuver, which outwardly showcased American diplomatic patience while sidelining Jerusalem, was designed to secretly lay the groundwork for a unified approach. The analyst suggests this strategy reached its peak synchronization over a weekend, with both Trump and Netanyahu publicly demonstrating complete alignment by Sunday.

Reports from Thursday indicated a tense phone call between the leaders. The discussion reportedly centered on a revised U.S. proposal sent to Iran through Pakistan. Netanyahu, however, is said to have rejected this proposal, favoring instead a renewed military approach to degrade Iran’s infrastructure.

One U.S. source described Netanyahu’s reaction to the exchange as intense, stating, “Netanyahu’s hair was on fire.”

In parallel, weekend reports also suggested that Israeli leaders were being increasingly excluded from U.S.-Iran negotiations. This followed Netanyahu’s pre-war efforts for a joint campaign to overthrow the Iranian regime, which did not materialize.

Netanyahu broke his public silence on Sunday, posting on the social media platform X to express unwavering solidarity with the White House and to project a unified stance.

“The partnership between us and our two countries has been proven on the battlefield and has never been stronger,” Netanyahu stated on X. “My policy, like President Trump’s, remains unchanged: Iran will not have nuclear weapons.”

The analyst views the public friction and targeted leaks as a deliberate tactical diversion. This was intended to keep Tehran off balance and unaware of the true intentions.

“Neither President Trump nor Prime Minister Netanyahu has any interest in any crisis, but by leaking the story of a crisis between Trump and Netanyahu, the Iranians might find themselves surprised by the timing of the next military attack,” the analyst explained.

He further elaborated, “The leak created a sense of disagreement between the two leaders and positions Trump as the leader who gives another chance to the diplomatic path despite the pressures of Prime Minister Netanyahu.” The analyst concluded, “Trump understands who the Iranians are.”

This final synchronization followed a weekend phone call where Trump reportedly reassured Netanyahu. Trump affirmed that any final agreement with Iran would completely dismantle Tehran’s nuclear program.

Netanyahu also stated that Trump “reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon.”

Washington had been keeping Jerusalem informed about the negotiations. These discussions were reportedly focused on a memorandum of understanding to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and to enter into negotiations for a final agreement on outstanding disputed points, according to an official statement.

Following the Sunday call, Netanyahu expressed his gratitude to Trump for his “exceptional commitment to Israel’s security.”

“Netanyahu’s last post about his last conversation with Trump can be understood as the ultimate closure to this deception and any accusations,” the analyst added.

“This is trying to prepare the Israeli public for the idea that everything was fully coordinated with the U.S., and the diplomatic developments will serve the Israeli interest.”

However, the analyst noted that skepticism persisted in Jerusalem regarding whether the gaps between the U.S. and Iran would be bridged. It remained uncertain whether “Trump will accept the Iranian position.”
