SouthernWorldwide.com – Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love admitted he was taken by surprise by the arrest of his teammate, running back Josh Jacobs, on domestic violence charges.

Love addressed the situation for the first time publicly during organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, revealing that the news caught him off guard.

Jacobs was taken into custody at the Brown County Jail on May 26 following a police response to a reported domestic disturbance.

The Pro Bowl running back is facing five charges. These include a felony count for strangulation and suffocation, along with several misdemeanor charges: battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and intimidation of a victim.

His legal representatives have vehemently denied the allegations, issuing a plea for “fairness and restraint.”

Against this backdrop, Love shared his initial reaction, stating that the news was stunning.

“There’s always questions,” Love told reporters when asked about his immediate thoughts. “I was shocked when I saw it.”

Jacobs was released from jail on May 27 and has since rejoined the team for OTAs. The District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the evidence to determine the next steps in the legal process.

Love acknowledged that there remains a significant amount of uncertainty surrounding the case as the legal proceedings unfold.

“But like I said, we’re just going to let it play out,” he commented.

“There’s a lot of uncertainty when you hear something like that, of what might happen,” Love continued. “But we’ll see, we’ll let it play out and go from there.”

While the organization has maintained a relatively low public profile regarding the matter, Love confirmed that internal discussions have occurred.

“Yeah, we’ve talked internally,” Love stated. “Everyone knows what the situation is there. We’ve talked, but obviously the details, everyone’s keeping that under wraps right now, out of respect for the situation and obviously all the legal stuff that’s going to be playing out.”

Despite the ongoing uncertainty, Love indicated that it has been business as usual with Jacobs back on the practice field with his teammates.

“But it’s great to have Josh here with us, being able to work with us and getting back to work,” he added. “But yeah, kind of everybody’s just waiting and letting it play out on its own.”

For the time being, Love and the Packers are awaiting further developments in the case.
