SouthernWorldwide.com – Baseball has proven to be a consistent source of profit over the past couple of weeks, with minimal setbacks. While a wager on the Astros yesterday resulted in a disheartening loss, it was offset by a successful bet on Yordan Alvarez, who also contributed a home run, yielding a +230 return for those who backed him.
Today’s focus shifts to a matchup between the Brewers and the Twins.
The Milwaukee Brewers continue to defy expectations, consistently finding ways to secure victories despite significant player losses and organizational changes. This season is no different; they traded away Freddy Peralta yet maintain a winning record. Peralta joins a growing list of players who have departed as the team pursues a World Series title. However, the recurring theme of reaching the postseason without a championship may eventually lead to frustration for the team.
Currently, they stand at 24-17 for the season, trailing the Cubs by 2.5 games in the National League Central standings.
Despite facing injuries, the team’s strength is expected to grow as the season progresses. Even without their ace pitcher, they boast a team ERA of 3.35 and a WHIP of 1.23. Chad Patrick is slated to pitch for the Brewers tonight, according to DraftKings. Patrick has performed solidly this season with a 2-2 record, a 3.06 ERA, and a 1.36 WHIP. However, his road performance has been a concern, with a 5.84 ERA, largely due to allowing four earned runs in his last two road starts. Notably, Twins hitters have a .333 batting average against Patrick, going 5-for-15.
For a team that was widely predicted to be among the league’s worst, the Minnesota Twins are demonstrating remarkable improvement. They enter tonight’s game with a 20-24 record and a winning record at home, though their home performance of 12-11 is only slightly better than .500.
Despite a .236 team batting average, they have managed to score 211 runs this season. The pitching staff’s ERA stands at 4.49, with a manageable WHIP of 1.36.
Tonight, the Twins will feature Joe Ryan, a pitcher who could be a trade candidate if the team’s modest success doesn’t improve by mid-season. Many organizations view Ryan as a potential No. 1 or No. 2 starter, and for good reason.
Ryan’s season record is 2-3 with a 3.43 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. He has an impressive home ERA of 2.60. Although he exited a start with an injury two outings ago, he returned last week, pitching six innings and allowing only one earned run on two hits. Brewers hitters have struggled against Ryan, batting just .203 against him in their careers (14-for-69).
A specific player prop bet is not readily apparent for today, with the exception of Andrew Vaughn going hitless. Vaughn has a career .167 batting average against Ryan, going 2-for-12 with four strikeouts. While Patrick has been decent this season, he doesn’t match Ryan’s level of consistency. Therefore, the prediction favors the Twins through the first five innings, mitigating concerns about potential bullpen collapses.
