SouthernWorldwide.com – Wide receiver Parris Campbell is stepping away from professional football, joining a growing number of athletes who have chosen to retire from the sport. The Dallas Cowboys announced his decision, placing the 28-year-old on the reserve/retired list on Wednesday.
The Cowboys confirmed Campbell’s retirement through their official team website. He will be officially moved to the Reserve/Retired List, concluding his tenure with the Dallas franchise.

Campbell spent a portion of the previous season on injured reserve and the practice squad. He did not participate in any regular-season games for Dallas before signing a reserve/futures contract in January.
His most recent NFL regular-season action occurred in 2024 with the Philadelphia Eagles. During his time with the Eagles, Campbell recorded six receptions across five games and was part of a Super Bowl-winning team.
Prior to his NFL career, Campbell showcased his talent at Ohio State University. He was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Campbell completed four seasons with the Colts, accumulating 983 receiving yards. His most productive campaign came in 2022, where he recorded a career-best 623 receiving yards. He then joined the New York Giants in 2023.
Following Campbell’s retirement, the Dallas Cowboys now have two open spots on their 90-man roster. One of these openings was already available prior to his decision to retire.
Parris Campbell is set to celebrate his 29th birthday in less than two months. The Cowboys are scheduled to commence their voluntary organized team activities in June.
