SouthernWorldwide.com – Phil Mickelson, a prominent figure in professional golf, is facing new and serious accusations of sexual misconduct, this time from the ex-wife of a fellow tour player.
This latest allegation surfaces shortly after it was reported that Mickelson was removed from a golf club where he held membership for an extended period. The earlier incident involved alleged inappropriate contact with a female employee prior to a golf round in the spring at The Farms Golf Club near San Diego.
The new claims come from Ashley, the ex-wife of professional golfer Pat Perez. She alleges that during the 2015 Barclays tournament at Plainfield Country Club, she and Perez were staying in a villa rented by Mickelson. The villa was located near Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, where Mickelson is a member.
According to an interview Ashley gave to Skratch, the situation became uncomfortable when she and Mickelson were briefly alone in a room. She claims Mickelson showed her a nude photograph of himself, which reportedly depicted an erection and him flexing his bicep.
Ashley further alleges that Mickelson then invited her to his room that night, stating, “I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep, I want you to come see me.”
Ashley indicated that she did not immediately discuss the incident with her husband at the time, only bringing it up after the tournament had concluded. Mickelson reportedly issued an apology at a later date.
Skratch’s report also notes that Pat Perez had previously expressed strong negative feelings towards Mickelson in a podcast approximately four years ago. Perez stated, “Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable. He knows that he screwed up. He apologized for the action, but I cannot forgive him for it.”
Reflecting on the 2015 incident, Ashley now feels that she was being “groomed” by Mickelson since their initial meeting in 2014.
The Skratch investigation included interviews with other sources who reportedly alleged infidelity on Mickelson’s part and cited abrupt terminations of memberships at various other golf clubs.
A spokesperson for Phil Mickelson provided a statement to Skratch addressing the allegations. The spokesperson stated that some claims are false, while others revisit past mistakes Mickelson has acknowledged. The statement argued that grouping disputed claims with those he has owned does not lend credibility but rather contributes to a misleading narrative.
The spokesperson emphasized that an accurate and complete personal story of Mickelson’s life and family cannot be presented by external sources. They highlighted that Mickelson’s story, struggles, and recovery are his own and those of his closest family members.
The statement also touched upon Mickelson’s ongoing recovery, describing it as not a linear process. It mentioned the unwavering support of his wife, Amy Mickelson, throughout their 35-year relationship, emphasizing her grace, love, and belief in measuring individuals by their efforts to rectify mistakes, not just their failures.
According to the spokesperson, Mickelson’s current priority is to be the husband, father, and man his family deserves, which includes dedicating his full attention to a private family health matter. While acknowledging that parts of his life are public, the spokesperson stressed that his family’s private affairs are not.
When contacted by Skratch, Pat Perez declined to comment on the situation, stating, “I’m not talking about Phil.”
Both Perez and Mickelson are associated with LIV Golf. However, Mickelson has participated in only one tournament this year, citing family issues, and has missed all three major championships.
