SouthernWorldwide.com – Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair has once again voiced his opinion regarding Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic’s absence due to injury.
Flair’s criticism centers on Doncic missing games with a hamstring injury. He elaborated on his stance during an interview with “Yahoo Sports Daily,” expressing his views just ahead of the Lakers’ Game 4 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
“I’m not being hard on Luka. I’m having fun, I’m such a Laker fan, and I just honestly believe, of course, I don’t know anything about the extent of injury, but the first time I saw it… I did the same thing to the quarterback of the 49ers a couple of years ago. I said, ‘Get back in the game, man,’” Flair stated.
He further added, “You know, I’ve taken a cortisone shot, I’ve wrestled with a broken ankle, so, I don’t have much sympathy for the hamstring. But you know, they’re protecting the future and I don’t blame them for that. They got guaranteed money.”

Flair’s perspective is informed by his own extensive career in professional wrestling, during which he famously performed through significant injuries.
One of his most notable injuries occurred in 1975 when he survived a plane crash in North Carolina, sustaining a broken back in three places. Despite being told his wrestling career was over, he went on to achieve a historic career. He also experienced an injury while working for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in 2011. In a remarkable revelation in 2016, Flair also shared that he had been struck by lightning.
Previously, just last week, Flair had publicly suggested that the Lakers should consider trading Doncic if he was unwilling to play through his injury.
Doncic’s hamstring injury resulted in him missing the final five games of the regular season and all of the Lakers’ playoff games up to that point.
