SouthernWorldwide.com – Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in a grueling Tribal Combat match at WWE Clash in Italy.

Reigns, known as the “Head of the Table,” has held an undisputed grip on the WWE championship for years. His reign at the top of the company was solidified when he defeated CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Since then, Jacob Fatu has emerged as his most persistent challenger, making it clear he desired everything Reigns possessed. Fatu’s previous loss to Reigns at Backlash earlier this month did not deter him. He escalated the conflict by challenging Reigns to Tribal Combat at Clash in Italy, a match designed to put Reigns’ status as “Tribal Chief” to the ultimate test.

Reigns has a history of overcoming family challenges to his authority in Tribal Combat, having previously defeated Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa. His intention was to decisively “domesticate” Fatu, ensuring he would never again pose a threat to his championship reign. A key strategy in this endeavor was to neutralize Fatu’s signature move, the Tongan Death Grip.

In a brutal display, Reigns utilized a toolbox to inflict damage on Fatu’s hand, temporarily hindering his ability to execute the Tongan Death Grip. However, Fatu proved resilient, and it would take more than that to keep him down. Recognizing the need for extreme measures, Reigns drove Fatu through a barricade with a powerful spear, inadvertently involving security personnel in the collision.

Yelling that he needed no assistance, Reigns began dismantling the turnbuckles. Fatu attempted to apply the Tongan Death Grip once more, but his grip faltered. Reigns countered with a Superman Punch, which Fatu absorbed. When Reigns went for a spear, Fatu surprisingly landed one on Reigns first.

Fatu followed up with a pop-up Samoa Drop and then a moonsault, yet he was unable to secure a pinfall. During the second pin attempt, Reigns resorted to a low blow. Both competitors, having expended immense energy, found themselves exhausted in the center of the ring.

Reigns regained his footing and slammed Fatu’s head against the exposed turnbuckle. Dazed, Fatu was then speared through a table by Reigns. Fatu managed to get back to his feet, but Reigns delivered one final spear, which proved to be the decisive blow.

With this victory, Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Championship and maintained his position as the undisputed “Head of the Table.”

The outcome signifies that Fatu must now fall in line behind Reigns and The Usos. Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa, Talla Tonga, and Tama Tonga observed Fatu’s defeat, their own allegiances and future actions now under scrutiny.
