SouthernWorldwide.com – New Orleans Saints legend Cam Jordan is approaching what he anticipates will be his final NFL season with a clear objective: Super Bowl glory.

After careful consideration, Jordan, who recorded 10.5 sacks in the 2025 season, has re-signed with the Saints for another year. While he hasn’t officially used the word “retirement,” Jordan has made it known that he is entering this upcoming season with the expectation that it will be his last in the league.

When asked about his physical condition, Jordan candidly stated, “Do I feel good? Absolutely. Do I feel better not being part of OTAs? Physically, yes!”

Beyond his prowess in pressuring the quarterback, setting the edge, and his overall effectiveness as a future Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end, one of Jordan’s defining traits is his straightforwardness in any situation.

Having observed the strategies implemented by first-year head coach Kellen Moore and defensive coordinator Brandon Staley last year, Jordan understands his role within the Saints’ defense. He expressed his readiness to “do whatever needs to be done” for his team. Despite some questioning his effectiveness in a two-point stance, his performance statistics clearly indicate that this approach was successful.

Jordan is confident in his ability to make a significant impact on this Saints team, which he believes is filled with potential. The desire to make a difference in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans still burns brightly within him. Furthermore, he harbors one last aspiration: to achieve the ultimate dream that every football player cherishes from childhood.

“The ultimate dream is to win a Super Bowl,” Jordan remarked. “You grow up, thinking, ‘Man, I want to be just like the greats.’ For some reason, we equate success in football with winning a Super Bowl because it’s the ultimate team sport. That’s the ultimate team dream.”

Jordan has amassed numerous personal accolades since entering the NFL as the 24th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft after his collegiate career with the Cal Bears. The Saints drafted him, and he has remained loyal to Louisiana, demonstrating dedication both on and off the field. He currently ranks 17th all-time in sacks with 132.0.

A key goal for Jordan during his final season in the black and gold is to achieve enough sacks to mark his eighth season with double-digit sack totals. If he succeeds, he will enter the top 10 all-time in sacks.

“You look at Year 16 — this is who I am. This is my body of work. It has never changed,” Jordan added.

However, Jordan firmly believes that his Hall of Fame credentials are already secured. He feels he could draft his induction speech for Canton, Ohio, even before playing his final season.

The question remains whether that speech will include the phrase “Super Bowl champion.” Jordan certainly hopes so, as he ponders what else there is to pursue when one believes they have already accomplished enough to warrant a bust in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“I was sitting there this offseason and I was like, ‘Man, what is it I want to accomplish?’ A Super Bowl. Personally speaking, I’ve done it all. All-Pro, Pro Bowls. Hell, I put together a Pro Bowl-esque season last year.”

Jordan, who will celebrate his 37th birthday on Friday, is prepared to give his absolute best one last time before his illustrious career comes to a close.
