GOP Lawmakers Push Treasury on Hasan Piker Cuba Trip Probe

SouthernWorldwide.com – Republican lawmakers are expressing support for the Treasury Department’s ongoing investigation into whether political influencer Hasan Piker violated any laws during his recent trip to Cuba.

Simultaneously, a Jewish advocacy group has requested that the Justice Department investigate the Twitch streamer. The concern is that Piker may have been acting as an unregistered agent for the communist nation.

Piker is currently facing a federal administrative subpoena from the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. Piker himself has stated that this probe is part of a larger investigation into Neville Roy Singham.

Singham is described as an American-born tech tycoon based in Shanghai. He is known for bankrolling a network of pro-communist nonprofit organizations.

In Washington D.C., many Republican lawmakers have publicly applauded the investigation into Piker’s activities.

Representative Ilhan Omar’s daughter has been noted for her activist career, which has involved associations with pro-communist groups and anti-Israel encampments.

Representative Darrell Issa commented on the situation, stating that Congress will not ignore the unfolding details concerning financing from Neville Singham or the emerging scandal.

A progressive streamer, who has previously supported certain political figures, has commented that Cubans are celebrating in the streets despite an ongoing energy crisis.

During a recent livestream, Piker pointed investigators towards Singham as a primary target. He suggested that Singham’s operations in the U.S. include organizations like the ANSWER Coalition and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL).

Piker elaborated that the ultimate target is likely Singham and his network, which extends from PSL to the ANSWER Coalition and CodePink. He believes Singham has funded numerous political movements and activism in the country, and that these efforts are being met with resistance.

The Treasury Department is requesting financial, logistical, and communications information related to the trips to Cuba. These requests are being made through official “Requests for Information” (RFIs).

Senator Rick Scott of Florida reacted positively to the news of the subpoena. He stated that Hasan Piker and Code Pink visited Cuba and stayed in high-end hotels.

Scott further alleged that they associated with individuals within the communist regime while disregarding the plight of political prisoners who are allegedly suffering starvation and torture.

He emphasized that Piker and Code Pink should be thoroughly investigated and held accountable for any laws they may have broken.

Scott and Piker have a history of public disagreements. Piker previously made a controversial remark suggesting that Rick Scott should be killed, in the context of discussing Medicare and Medicaid fraud.

Another commentator, David Marcus, has written about the rise of Marxism and its perceived influence on the Democratic Party, suggesting it is a force they created but struggle to control.

Former Representative Bob Filner noted that Piker’s influence on the Democratic Party has altered the political landscape he observed over three decades ago.

Filner recalled a time when both major parties, despite differing approaches, shared a common goal of strengthening America. He believes Democrats in the past also loved the country and sought its success.

He expressed concern that the current political climate has shifted, with some members of Congress appearing to aim for the country’s detriment rather than its improvement.

A top Republican senator has called out Code Pink and The People’s Forum for allegedly promoting Chinese Communist Party propaganda within the United States.

Filner questioned how these groups, given their consistent messaging, are not registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

He suggested that it is unsurprising for groups associated with the Chinese Communist Party or other anti-American entities to be funding organizations in the U.S. whose primary function seems to be supporting anti-American causes.

This includes support for terrorist groups or regimes, such as those in Iran and Cuba.

A social media post from a user named Ramirez criticized the Trump administration’s approach to dissenters, labeling them as “domestic terrorists” and “communists” to justify targeting them.

Ramirez asserted that the current era is not the 1950s and that “Red Scare” tactics will not be effective. She stated that they are actively resisting an authoritarian and imperialistic agenda.
